What do you guys reckon this noise could be.

I know its coming from the back of the car but not sure what it is exactly,

You will be able to hear in the link provided a massive rattling noise when my exhaust isn't loud.

The audio is about 3 minutes but move towards the end it is quite noticable.

It sounds like metal touching together but been under the car for a bit cant for the life of me figure out what could be touching.

My exhaust is now vibrating like a mofo and seems to get worse when the aircon is on.

Firstly, what exhaust, cat and headers do you have?

Full JTune Exhaust system.

I've had it for a year and has only started to happen since my sway bar has gone in. But i don't think it could be the sway bar hitting the exhaust.

sounds like maybe one of your exhaust flanges is touching the sway bar.

It maybe that.. I noticed that my exaust vibrates like a druggy on detox. Any idea what could be the cause of this.

Pretty sure your exhaust is touching the sway bar

How much of a gap should there be

A gap of a few inches. When the car is raised off the wheels, the swaybar sits lower as it is connected to the hub area. But once the car's weight is on the wheels, the entire swaybar sits much higher and closer to the body and exhaust.

I have about a 1" gap when at standard height

Ok so i went to autobarn today to see if they had some thick high temp tape to tape up my sway bar. They did but while i was looking at some hose clamps i saw some vacum hoses i got one about one metre long. Cut it so it fit properly spliced it so it could be attached on to my swaybar. The whole length of the sway bar from bushing to bushing is covered and used 3 hose clamps to keep it in the steady..

So far it has not made a single peep will post back in a week or so but the problem is at the moment fixed.

Here is a pic of one side but should be good enough idea of what i did.

If you need more pics or have the.same problem happy to help out but u like the look of it kinda stock looking.

Do i need to be worried about the temp melting i dont think so but thought i would ask
