Anyone who has done this conversion before please give me some advice on the best way to go about it.
I have some help to do the swap myself and am basically shopping round for the best deal on a half cut.
I am open to the option of just buying the engine and gradually buying all things need for the swap but is this as simple as it sounds?
Anyone with any experience or insight with this conversion please help me out
thanks
Shep

sell your vti and buy the vtir. it comes with b16a2 standard.

what joyride said is a good idea. cause a conversion would end up costing you more and your car would still be missing all the finer bits and piece that the stock VTiR has.

Thanks for the info guys
is the b18c5 from integra type-r a bolt in swap?
would i just need the rear engine mounts or all of them?
what about the b18c from integra vtir probs a hell of a lot cheaper?
anybody done the b18c into an ek civic here?
thanks again for the info

To my knowledge, the VTI is a d series engine ?
you will need new engine mounts if you want to put in a b series engine ..
If you had a VTI-R, the b18c would be a bolt in swap ? (correct me if i'm wrong)
b18c1 vs b18c5, about 25hp difference.. and large price difference i believe ?
Could be easier if you bought a VTI-R, sold your b16a2 and got a b18c .. should be a lot less complicated

All you need to change is the rear engine mount then it’s a bolt in swap. You can use an OEM Vti-R engine mount. B series swaps into EK series cars a fairly simple. Forget the b18C1, b18C5 b18C7 crap its US engine codes (dam US websites). Australian and Jap integras just have B18C on the block.

Basically there is 10HP between the B16A (160) and B18C (170). But the B18c is a lot better down low being a 1.8L

I’m not sure what b16 and b18 prices are like at the moment but there was only 500 bucks difference in price a couple of months ago. Depends on if the price of b16a's have dropped back to a reasonable price.

The B18c has been a bit harder to source than the b16.

Depending on your budget (not much by the sound of it) you could invest in a B18CR (DC2R motor). Not sure what these are retailing for at the moment I’m guessing around 6K.
