Hi guys, can anyone shed some light on the interchangeability of OEM parts between a DC2R and a DC4 GSI, ive already read that the front suspension will bolt in but the rear suspension requires lower control arms.
Ive checked the gaskets from pictures and it looks like the DC2R header could be a straight swap too, can anyone confirm this?
Im not trying to make a type R replica or anything, i just like the quality of OEM gear and looking for a few little upgrades for the missus Teg

audm dc2r header is rubbish i wouldnt bother putting it on a dc4 unless you get one for free or its jdm dc2r header.
piping size on the header might be different too, as the dc2r runs a 2.25" catback

That cat is different so wont be a straight swap. even if you try swap cat too the piping cat back on DC4 will be smaller.
Change the whole thing if you can.

ty guys, i was gonna get a dc2r header and cat, then jsut make a new system to match up.
Is the Oz spec DC2r header really crap?

Yeh its fukn shit. Jdm 4-1 is good, 4-2-1 (aka 96spec) header is average but nothing lyk the jdm 4-1

thanks for the replies, i can get a 4-2-1 cheaply, so i might give it a go, i will trawl around first for a JDM header, but i dont like my chances.
Ill do a before and after dyno out of interest too

if you can replace the whole dc4 exhaust system to a dc2r you will be much better off.
yes there are alot of better options but if you are after an oem system then the dc2r is the best for you particularly if you can pick it up for cheap
without getting the headers, cat & cat back you kinda defeat the purpose as you will still be restricted by the same dc4 muffler - nah mean?
plus not to mention you will need to modify / butcher your dc4 exhaust / cat to make it all marry up
btw complete dc2r system should bolt straight up to your mrs dc4
oem dc2r suspension will also improve your performance and still fit your requirements
you will need dc2r LCA's to fit it
again a good upgrade if you can find it cheap

Ty hustler, you are on the same page as me. I think there may be a complete dc2r system in the forum classifieds in QLD, might be a goer, Im wondering if it will be a touch quiet though , she'd like a bit more noise over stock. Ill gasket match the header up too before fitting, As you say im sure there will be some gains over the dc4 system.

the exhaust is quiet - like mouse quiet lol
id say it would be the same or slightly louder than your current one..
how about an intake or something?
i've ripped out the resonator from under my stock air box and put in a K&N filter
it 'sounds' more aggressive but probably didnt yield any gains LOL
plus the good thing is that its stock looking
otherwise you go down a the CAI or SRI path (Injen, AEM, Js Racing etc) will cost you $400+ new
but yeah that kinda diverts from your OEM strategy

Lol, mouse quiet sounds about right, thats what it sounds like currently. I might remove the middle muffler/silencer if it has one? Im not doin a cannon or anything, but gotta get away from that stock whisper quiet situation
