So i got these in the mail yesterday, and before going to bed, I decided to put the damper and the rod together to see how much easier it will be to lift the hood. The damn thing wont compress one bit! (And yes I had my weetbix), but no matter how much I gave my chest a workout trying to compress the two together, it wouldn't even slightly compress.

The instal instructions are absolutely rubbish as well, but I've got it figured out thnks to google.

Also, courtesy of google, I found that eith other prducts (such as TEIN & PWJDM), they are instructed to grease the female ball joints and apply thread protectant too, which I think will be worth while.

I just want to get this darn thing to compress, and I'll do a write up becoz it can be a bit of a PITA.

You're just a wuss. ;)

Seriously, the bonnet is a lever and will compress the dampers easily.

if you buy the full pressure'd ones (for oem bonnet), they are very hard to compress by hand because your oem bonnet is heavy.

The dampers is meant to lift and hold your bonnet up (even in windy days).
