Hey guys/girls

Haven't driven my car in a while but i know what the problem is still :)

Need a few answers and solutions.

Got scrubbing on my rear inner guards coming from tyres and i have a slight 'knocking' sound when i do full lock turning left or turning right.

The car in question is 02 Integra Type R

Specs of rims with tyres:

F: 17x9 +35 255/40/17
R: 17x8 +30 245/40/17

Haven't rolled my guards, car is minorly lowered... Nothing really in as im on stock suspension (bought the car with pedders lowered springs)

Going to be making a purchase on OHLINS coils soon.

How can i go about fixing these problems?

Cheers :)

Serious dead set answers appreciated

Well... any particular reason why you haven't already rolled your guards?

Have a look at your suspension and see if anything is loose. My front left coilover makes a clunk/knock as I turn whichever direction, turns out my coilover was loose. Tightened it up and now its all good.

Grosso i rekn ur tyres are too wide, go for a 225 or 235 at the front. My mates bmw was scrubbing with 245's so we pu 225's and the problem went

I think 215-225 rear and 235-245 front would be a better fit, this is surely contributing to the problem man. How much of a gap is there between your rear guard and the tyre? By looking at it does it appear that rolling would give you a useful amount of space to work with?

And the coilovers will help for sure man.

you need smaller tyres, rolled guards and more low.

Simple as that really.

if you roll your guards, run a better sized tyre they'll fit even with the car slammed on coilovers later on.

255 on a 9 is ridicuously large for a stock power honda and completely unnessecary. Already a works vs xx 9J is quite a heavy wheel to run up front.

run a 225 on the 9 and a 215 on the 8. and no, these are not stretched.

I ran 215 on a 9.5 and a 205 on a 9...that is a stretch and still completely fine for both street and track use. Never had one issue.

Rolling your guards should be your first step, then fitting better sized tyres. If you actually lower the car with coilovers and firm it up with damper settings it'll rub less than it will now at a higher height since the ride will be firmer and the wheels will push up into the guards as the spring compresses.

Good luck.

If you know what the problem is, why ask for advice?

Also, why ask for advice if you are to lazy to fix the problem?
