Hey guys and gals,

i am from sydney, i have been doing up cars for a long time now, but i have always owned nissans, always had a slight small spot for hondas but never made a cross over till now...i have had r33 skyline gtst's, nx's,pulsar's, ect ect in the past really loved sr20's and rb's...but when i hear a honda scream wether it was vtec or not...it would make me wonder...well i wanted something to start off as a base nothing to flash but i was on the hunt for something on a budget...so i started looking for clean LS integra's (which was hard to find) until i found this one...got it for a good price and there is only one thing wrong with it...the exhaust near the cat is making a chinging sound when driving and it has a small crack in the rear bar which is an easy fix...just the exhaust gets kind of annoying with all the chinging it does..but until i get it fixed it will do...well these are a couple pics of my ride.

1992 honda integra LS
B18B1 stock.....hopefully to slap a B16 vtec head on it later on...oh yea!!!

thanks khoannaDA9, yea there is probably a few things here and there....still looking for that chinging sound in my exhaust its starting to become very annoying lol....has the same sound as if you havent changed your brake pads and the scraper bit is touching the disc, but the sound is there if i rev my motor aswell but only makes the sound at a peak of a rev right before it revs down......but when your driving since there is always exhaust flow its making the sound...lol

thanks tough tom.....too many dc2's going around....so that is kind of what lead me to a clean DA9, i mean yea its got little problems here and there but nothing we cant fix....i was looking at a few dc2's but i still love the aggressive look of a DA9.....cant wait for that head swap aswell...going to do it hopefully mid-way next year....my girlfriend still doesnt like the fact that i drive a honda...lol...only because she has a XR6 turbo...and yea enough said lol....

Welcome to the world of the DA oldskool!

Like the rims, lower it a bit and they would camber in just nicely, any idea on the offset?
Where did you get that avatar from too?

Exhaust is probably just vibrating on a heat shield or something, check the 2 hangers under the middle of the car and the Bracket that bolts it to the rear engine, the is about 10 small bolts that hold the 2 sections of heat shield in place which could be loose and causing the issue as well. God I hate rattles!

yeah agree with mooshie check the heat shield. had that prob with my short shifter, lol. it sould be all good, check all the hangers like mooshie said. yeah i wanted to to go ls/vtec but i heard its really unreliable if u do it cheap. make sure u do it right so u dont do it again bud. is it just ls/vtec u gonna do? or some suspension work? looks?

nah i am not just going to do the LS Vtec...that will come last....looking for a JDM front lip, found a carbon one in the states, im planning on lowering 3.5 inches all the way around..should look good after that...gotta get some good suspension though....stiffer the better, i want to run it at the drags before i do the ls/vtec aswell just to see what i get....ive seen these push 15.7-15.9 stock so i want to try to surprise myself....

i just cant drive it at the moment though :( i tore my meniscus in my knee so its very painful right now to press the clutch...driving my girlfriends xr6 turbo though..which is sort of fun boring though lol....she cant keep up with the teggy around the bends and corners though...lol....

well i went a little crazy over the past weekend...saw an oil leak coming from the rocker cover and decided to do this while i was at it... replaced all the sparkplug tube seals and rocker cover gasket....and gave the car a service...

bit of a messy job with the gasket goo stuff...but im for certain it wont leak for a while....

stevo716
16-12-2011, 10:21 AM
long as u change the gasket and clean the surfaces well, u shudnt need liquid gasket.
nice work on the rocker cover

DJ-410
16-12-2011, 10:52 AM
yea i changed the gasket and cleaned all the surfaces...just wanted reassurance that it wasn't going to leak...the gasket was expensive as....$35 for gasket $4each for tube seals $15 primer $36 vht wrinkle red paint....$35 oil and filter...so the car got a bit of an early christmas present...lol

haha nice, yeh they are, ive been through plenty, soon as u take ur cover off again they seem to die and not seal as well.

I gotta relplace the valve cover seal on the DA6 and the cam seal on the DA9 so may as well do the valve cover seal again too!

Good work on the wrinkle red, just gotta sand the paint off the lettering and will look great. Could you knife any of that sealant off? Really should only need a small dab in the corners that go over the camshaft retainers
