Hey guys,

I noticed that the AUDM integra type r have 141kw and the JDMs have 147kw,now the engines specs seem identical so is the only difference the ecu and the mapping? if so can a jdm ecu be swapped over into an audm for extra power?

thanks

They have better headers aswell

better fuel in japan, which compliments the tune

better header/exhaust/cat

And iirc, they have a slightly higher compression ratio.

100 octane is where its at!

and also with any other car in australia its been watered down with minor ecu changes from factory to suit our climate or what not.

they use a different system for rating there fuels octane.

There best fuel is about as good as our best fuel.

I think you all need to read up on Octane rating.

And U.S.A fuel is the same as ours they don't use the RON rating they use ALI I think.

couldnt i just get a a full exhaust system, plug the jdm computer in and use 98 premium fuel with octane booster? would that work?

why not just get a hondata and tune it? you will actually see power gains then (after you've already done I/H/E that is..)

need a tune too.

where can i get hondata from? and how much is it? are they similar to like a apexi power fc?

Op, for the money you spend on a jdm ecu, jdm 4-1 (98spec) headers and cat (im pretty sure the cat is exactly the same 2.25" and stainless steel) u may aswell put in a bit extra and get ur self some used good aftermarket headers with a 100cel cat. Keep ur audm ecu, with out a tune u will have more then 147 at the flywheel.

Then free up ur cat back with a mugen twinloop or wateva exhaust u want. Then Buy urself a hondata and tune it and ur lookin at 120-130 kw atw, which would prbz be around 175-180kw at the fly

Various traders on this forum sell them.

A top of the line s300 go's for around 600 bucks used, then depending who you go with to tune it that'll set you back another 500-800 bucks.

They are a fully tunable honda ecu.

....(im pretty sure the cat is exactly the same 2.25" and stainless steel).....

Jdm cat has a 2.5" inlet and is apparently higher flowing but yeah these days the oem cat will cost you almost as much as an aftermarket 100 cell. So unless you want to keep it oem, this is good advice

Ah okay. I've got both jdm and adm b pipes here. Yet to do a full measure up, but I suspect they are the same other than the obvious length difference and the extra resonator on the jdm

as well as:

Vpower Racing was 100 octane by adding 5% ethanol to 98 petrol. We didn't want to pay more for 100 octane where all they did was add more ethanol. Low sales = stop selling the petrol

we got 98 atleast we dont have a max of 91 or something in most states in america
Different rating used in the US. Their equivalent for our 91 is their 87, our 95 is their 91 and our 98 is their 93/94.

^agree with this guy, constantly smelling fuel/fumes= do not want.

Plus it made a considerable difference in the raspyness (is that even a word?) of your exhaust note i found after removing mine in my old b18c7.

Does sound more raspy yes, and i found an increase power in vtec.

Umad did ur car go more quite afta de-cat ? (as in vtec crossover wasnt as beefy and loud)

Nope, louder in every aspect. But yeah maybe less beefy, more of a tinny sound.

the tiny exhaust makes quite a sound when you get ridd of cat alltogether

its really the jdm 4-1 exhaust header that makes the power difference to our aussie models
if you compare them side by side you will laugh at the aussie shit spec exhaust manifold

nerrrus

no, remove the cat, open you rubbish bin and put it in there. then fit a straight thu pipe lol.. nah you can just punch out the standad cat so it looks like its thee but if you exhausts gets probed by the epa expect 1k fine per cyclinder. just tell em your only running on 1 cyclinder haha
