Hey, Ive upgraded my brakes to Dc2r front calipers
and 1" MC
brake booster is still the stock da9 one.
Anyway it feels, like the pin in the brake booster isnt long enof to fully touch the Master cylinder properly. So i get a decent amount of free play at the start.
ive adjust the brake pedal as much as i can, like i forced it to full and i get a better pedal, but its still not perfect.
My prop valve is 40/40, but its not the master feeling thats off, ithe booster.
brakes bled properly too, car brakes fine, just pedal feels crap

Or it cud be my booster dying im not sure..
Just wonderin if there is a difference in the jdm dc2r brake booster, before i fork out 200+ for it

any help appreciated thanks

did you bench bleed the mc?

yup,
but thats not my prob, i actually looked at where the pin goes in the stock 15/16" MC and 1"MC, the 1" goes deeper so hence my assumption

Haha sry i cant get any pics, i installed the MC ages ago, Its been driving fine, cuz of the mod i did to the current pin where the brake pedal connects, just feel ill notice it more when i start tracking..

Basically, brake booster has 2 ends, the end that bolts to the brake pedal and end that goes into the MC pushrod.

It feels like the stock da9 pin is long enough. Wondering if the dc2r that used the 1" master, brake booster pin is longer.

Anything I have ever read says you need to replace booster and MC for this conversion, never been able to confirm why though. Possibly you just answered my long standing question!

I need to do this conversion myself at some point, bit sick of the squishy pedal with 282mm rotors and standard MC. How did you do the brake lines? Am I right that one lines up no worries but the other goes to the top of the MC on the DC version instead of the side?

Hey Steve
You need to adjust the brake booster rod to get rid of the pedal slop. People normally change the mc and booster so they don't get this prob.
In the pic below, you will need to loosen the star shaped screw and the pedal height nut. Adjust the rod and towards the mc and allow for approx 3-4mm freeplay.
That'll fix your issues.
