 Hi all,

I've just won myself my an '89 ED Civic. Its a Gli by the look of it, with power windows, mirrors and steer etc. This is my first Honda, but not the first I've driven, not by a long shot. My younger brother use to have an 88 crx, older brother has had an EG Si for the past 10 years, Mum has had an EK VTiR for the past 12 years and Dad use to have a 95 crx before a truck gave it a nudge. But I've been toying with the other "H" (Hyundai) for many years. I still have an excel set up for club motorsport, but its currently undergoing a motor swap, I won't bore you about it anymore.

I was searching for a DC2R, but I haven't been able to find a good stock one within my price range. So I opted for a cheap daily to keep me out of the rain and off my road bike (bicycle) in bad weather.

The ED has been living on the central coast (NSW) and although I haven't picked it up yet, I have driven it. There are so many new parts that have been fitted to it in the last 12 months that it probably owes the owner more than the sale price...;)
Which is good for me and it drives great, a little slow, but great. It has a minor rattle/noise in the rear which seems to be coming from the inside of the body, as the suspension, wheel bearing and hub feels solid. The a/c compressor is worn out, but comes with a replacement, just need some of the old gas. But thats it, apart from that its sweet.

Yeah your right, its a GL. I remember looking it up on carbuddy for the specs DX or GL, I've remembered it wrong. Yeah it was on ebay. I love'd the way the gearbox shifts when I test drove it. Plus I prefur the feel of the Honda cable clutch to the hydrolic ones I've driven.

hydraulic leaks over time, bracket on cable breaks over time, can't win....

There's an ED at pick n payless with a front lip still intact. Go and grab it before anyone else does as they are so hard to find.

welcome abourd.

ED's never came out injected, they all have the D15B4 twin carb motors. CRX's however; came with b16's/D16 ZC motors which WERE injected.

Well I drove it home last night, it did the 100km trip without incident. Though the sony cd player seems to be screwed, it plays music but the buttons don't do anything.

Well it seems I am unable to contain myself. Just purchased some bits and pieces to keep her running smooth and lower.
Koni shocks
Energy Master suspension bushing kit
Hardrace rear trailing arm pivot bushings
DNA springs 280F/230R
Brake Master Cylinder
Another CD player (one in the car is stuffed)

Do you know how to install the new items properly?

if you do, please make some DIY's and help out the Honda community.

Some of the bushings may require assistance, but I should be fine with the rest.

Been thinking about the springs. Because this will hit the track sometime, I'll be better off with some more hardcore springs (thinking H&R race) to mate with the koni shocks. If anyone is interested in the DNA's hit me up.
