Just posting this out of curiosity and after a mate is a bit interested in a high km car...
im talkin 300,000 kms

the car is spose to have all log books and *country* kms...

Main questions would be.. what would be gone/about to go/starting to go after 300kms on a vtec engine

asuming the log books are righ and it has been serviced frequently... what would be the life of one of these engines... im not asking for an exact figure ... but is 300+ pretty much cya later to the engine etc... or if looked after could still be in decent condition?

Whats the deal with dated engines.. I see some ford/holden taxis that have done over 500,000kms ..

James, If its been WELL taken care of it should hit 350,000-400,000 kms without too many problems. My old B16A did 320,000kms before i swapped it out. When they took apart the B16 they found the bearings were evenly worn, and the head looked very clean for the amount of Kms. The only thing that was worn was the piston rings, and thats probably because it had a very hard life. So as long as it gets serviced regulary, which i did with my motor, it should be OK.
