Hey guys

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question,

But i am just finishing up on my carby to EFI conversion and i need a blue slip because the dick who i brought it off done an engine change and the old engine number in my rego papers,
It says i got a B in the car.. i have actually got a D16 haha

So does anyone know what is involved in getting a blue slip? like what do they check for and if a fail does the police get notified?

Cheers OH!

They check your cars roadworthy condition.

Make sure your car is all good to go before you take it in.....

If all you're doing is changing the engine number, you don't need to get a full blue slip. Just needs to be done at a blue slip place.

Oh really?
Wouldn't I need a full once cause of the efi conversion?
Thanks mate!!

So u went from a Civic Breeze to a Civic with D power! lol.

Just get a blue slip champ!

tell them to put in the new engine number on the blue slip and update your rego engine number details with RTA.

since ur in sydney - go to revriteperformance and ask for Fred.

he does blue slips and is a friendly old fella who will fix it up for you.

prolly cost u around 50-80bucks but at least it will be legit.

as long as your engine number matches the RTA records, you shouldnt have any issues with the cops.

since EG civics came out with both carby and efi, shouldnt be a hassle bruz!

THANKS!!!!!
Rep to you sir!

I know my car has had a few accidents and it needs body work. on top of that i have HALO headlights that dont have high beam and i was told it wouldnt pass blue slip cause of no high beam and i could not pass cause of the damage.. you can see it bad in the boot but the rest of the car isnt to noticeable lol

Thanks man.. its a fair trip but i hope its worth it so i can drive this car ive had for 3 months hahahaha

rep+ for me? o.O

give him a buzz first to ensure that he can book you in www.revriteperformance.com

just tell him on the phone that your just getting a engine number update.

just make sure your blinkers, brake lights work and the horn ...incase he checks those, but i highly doubt it.

and give your engine bay a bit of a clean so it looks presentable :)

good luck bruz,

it depends on where you go ...

for a hassle free and and no questions asked - they can charge you whatever they want - seeing that they know you car has flaws ..but obviously they wont pass you if your car is a major risk on the road for the safety of others.

but yes - generally they should be anywhere between 25-50$ ..

Yes with ITB`s which he quotes "make it run like VTEC"
The only thing it done was run cash out of my pockets lol!

Just make sure you tell them its an adjustment of records for the engine number, not a full blueslip inspection.

x2 to this ...

as i mentioned on my previous post too ..

its best to only say that rather than telling them other issues as then they may look at it and not pass you due to blah blah blah...
