View Full Version : exhaust that sounds like this

lol this is going to sound so stupid, cause i know the different variables to create such an exhaust note, but i wanted to know if theres a exhaust type, or one that can be fabricated to sound like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fumMvKUFXl8&feature=related
like an exhaust that sounds hi pitched, tinny? and hollow at high revs
my spoon streets on my dc2r was something similiar to my sound recolition, just cause its not one of them, low, throaty, drowny, deep notes.
so im not looking for a low deep, throaty cannony sound, sometthing more like a hollow hi pitched sound
for say a 4 cyl car like a accord euro
i presume it would be something like a straight pipe titanium exhaust?

Running no rear muffler and just hotdogs with straight pipe gives a note kind of like that but its going to be unbearable on a daily

Also thinner wall tubing will add to that effect

Thin wall stainless steel, high flow cat, resonator in the middle, straight through rear muffler.

you will get close with what trism said - but without the V10 engine its going to be hard to get it spot on hehe
a guy tried to drag me the other day in his M5 - i was in my D15b7 civic ...
i shook my head at him and pulled in behind him lol

That's because what you are hearing is mostly the whine of the supercharger!

I'm trying to chase up the f1 sound, did some research and found that you need a very thin wall exhaust pipe
A small capacity v8 lol....
And a 20,000rpm high revving range motor
I was told it all comes down to the material of the pipes
Thin and small diameter...

Those vids are not even VTEC since the RPM would be limited to about 4000-5000rpm only when the car is stationary.

Is this for LOLs? Or seriouss? The reason the RPM is limited when stationary is so that you don't damage the engine by free-revving the engine at high RPM.
