Go auctions bro. Often they sell off stuff used by mechanics and workshops. Professional quality jacks, low profile, heavy duty shit go for round $100. The ones i've seen go down like 100mm (wood block under front wheels will work no matter how low you think your car is) and lift like half a metre up.

i want to know as well lol.... cbf using two jacks, scissors jack to lift it high enough for the hydro jack to fit under, than using hydro jack to lift it completely up

these ones can make minute adjustments if your floor is uneven. I prefer these over the larger ones....

Just get a cheapo from SCA for DIY. Mine doesn't fit under my Civic so I just drive my front wheels onto two separate planks of wood about 3cm thick, then I can get the jack underneath, then lower the car back onto the wooden planks. Easily done and lets face it you probably won't use it enough to justify the extra $300 or w/e.

That is the price to pay for quality. The blue point jack has a profile of 70mm and I haven't had a car to date that I can't jack up

yeh i just remembered my mechanic had one and it was mint

i just cant justify spending that much money at the moment on a jack, it could go on new brakes and pads

i dont think im gonna get the sca ones as they have been recalled once...

what about "pro lift" from repco?

The quality of Pro Lift jacks is very cheap. Brought one before I brought my Blue Point. Used it 3 or 4 times and then it would not hold pressure and would start creeping down. What a waste of $200.

+1 for the costco jack

+2.
My mate has one, works very well and it's aluminium construction allows it to be lightweight (I've been to Costco to check it out, picked it up with one hand easy!). Very strong also, and can handle a fair amount of weight. Not sure what's it's rated at, but my mate works on his BNR33 and his brother's FD, and they aren't light cars like civics, integras etc!

spend $20, jack fail and dent your car when it drops.
$1000 fix dent and paint.

Been using my mates Kinchrome 1350 kg recently, he paid only $65 for it. I'll be grabbing one shortly. I havent needed to use a couple block of timber yet as I've only lowered the FD 1.2inches.
