Hey guys, was surprised when i heard the other day that an s2000 has 176kw of power compared to the 141kw for a Integra type r, the only difference engine wise is the s2000 is a 2.0L and the type r is 1.8L, whats the main differences that helps the s2000 pump out so much more power??

The cashew is part of a fruit that grows in tropical regions called 'a cashew apple'. After harvesting, the cashew apple keeps for only 24 hours before the soft fruit deteriorates. The cashew apple is not commercially important since it spoils quickly, but local people love the fruit. To harvest the nut, the ripe apple is allowed to fall to the ground where natives easily gather it. The apple and nut are separated.

That's really interesting (srs). I would like to try this cashew apple.

As for the op question, well it's got a higher compression ratio, probably a better head design with more aggressive camming, 200cc's more capacity, better oil pump to withstand 9000rpm. I'm sure there's a whole host of other shit that help it make that much power from a 2lt engine.
Not to mention the bolt-ons are already very good from factory.

its because honda engineers changed the way the f20c motor is mounted to the b18c
you get more power if you use a north south layout

The F20C was designed with high maximum rpm capability in mind, higher output power, the red line is at 9000 rpm, with VTEC engagement at 6000 rpm. Relatively long career of piston travel of 84 mm results in an average speed of piston 4965 m / m, 56.42mph or 25 m / s, superior to any production car to date. The power is 240 hp (179 kW) at 8300 rpm in North America and Europe. The Japanese version, which has a higher compression ratio, is capable of 250 hp (247 hp) at 8600 rpm. Honda F20C engine won a place on Ward's "10 Best Engines list four times, in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003.
The engine of 1,997 cc shifts (121.9 cubic inches), loans on behalf of the Honda S2000.

Early in 1998 the progress Honda Integra Type-R is a 98-Spec. Motor, Honda's more stainless steel header with 4.1 Specific improvements camshafts, port and polishing techniques, and other areas. Engine power remained at 200PS, but the characteristics of power / torque has been improved, especially in much-needed torque increases slightly from 18.5 kg 19.0 kg-mm, and the point of maximum torque decreases 6200rpm (above 7000rpm), but there was no improvement in low cam the power curve - an area where B18CR is rather weak. The body is still upgrades, suspension, brakes, even the tires / wheels have improved 98-Spec Integra Type-R significantly faster than the 96-Spec version.
All B18CRs is designed to operate on gasoline RON 100, which has a higher octane requirement. In response to a lower octane gasoline, Honda took a knock sensor, standard connector for all Honda DOHC VTEC engine slows down the ignition timing to prevent detonation. As a result, if the owners of the Integra Type-R is to run octane, power output is less than 200PS Honda spec'ed.
