Hey guys. I know these have been asked many times. But, i still have few questions about the connecting an Ipod to the car.

1. Most of the post talked about the Xcarlink product is this the right product?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XCarLink-VW-Audi-Peugeot-Citroen-Toyota-Honda-Mazda-/170643764867?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27bb293683
becuase some of the product said that it will not support the luxury version which is the 6 CD radio, would this one fit?

2. I know this would works for the Ipod and play the music on the Iphone. But, my question is does this product also connect to the Mobile? like for example if someone calls in will it go through the car speaker? and would their voice go through the speakers, when i pick up? or do i need to get a Bluetooth Adaptor for iPod iPhone Interfaces? such as :
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XCarlink-Bluetooth-Adaptor-iPod-iPhone-Interfaces-/170723976271?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item27bff1244f

Thank guys

i can only answer part 1. as far as I'm aware all Euros have 6CD Radio? i have an 06 Euro NOT luxury, but still has 6CD radio and i have xcarlink. so putting 2 and 2 together i would say there shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't support it?

The second eBay item in your post and the one posted by d_evilz is a bluetooth add-on that you need to make xcarlink support bluetooth however it would only work with xcarlink kits that have a line-in port (AUX). I know for fact that USB/SD card kits have it but I'm not sure if the iPod ones do so if you're set on the iPod one I would check with the supplier if it has a line-in port (AUX) coz if it doesn't then the bluetooth add-on won't work with it.

I have a USB/SD card/AUX xcarlink and with the bluetooth add-on and it works quite well for phone calls, music quality through bluetooth however is not that good, produces an annoying hissing sound. Music through regular AUX or USB doesn't have that problem though.

Hope that helps

i have a 'got2b car link' bluetooth i had installed on my 04 lux. its ok but the installer couldnt integrate it with stock head unit. He put in a small external speaker and when i receive a call, text, or place a call it turns head unit off and routes through external speaker.

a year later, not 100% happy on the arrangement. i would like to route through stock speakers. I enquired about the genuine Honda kit as i dont mind paying a premium for OEM stuff, but my Honda dealer said it wasn't compatible for my car. I didn't think anything of it until one day i came across this:

http://honda.com.au/cars_for-owners_bluetooth-phone-system.aspx

and from that i would assume it is compatible?

anyone with an 04 (or a clue) could confirm it would work?

I think it is pretty obvious that it is compatible with 04 Euro:

Compatible vehicles
...
Accord Euro 03YM ~ 08YM (excluding models with Sat Nav)

thats what i thought, i wonder why this guy told me not compatible and threw away a $700 job...

Damn. $700!!!

Are you sure it's worth it? I mean I have xcarlink which only cost me 100 bucks and easily installed it myself and I am happy with it. Sound quality is not the best of course but it's sufficient for the random phone call really.

But hey it's your car so it's totally up to you, I'm just saying it's quite a bit of money

i use it alot for work so i may be able to claim back. im hoping if i install it myself it wont be as bad.

i may opt for the xcarlink though, ipod connector would be handy...

$499 outright
$150 install

its a bit rich, has any one installed it themselves? I am a little unsure how to mount it to the side pillar - isnt there an airbag there?

and how to route the cables through?
