I was driving in my ed civic and i was coming towards a stop sign and i started to brake and the pedal went all the way to the ground and i was like shit. lucky my hand brake was still workibg.. when i finally got home. theres a lil fluid in the thing that you top up on the brake mastet cylinder, not much fluid and on the right side of the engine, opposite bmc there was a shit load of oil leaking onto the ground. any ideas?

maybe your brake master cylinder has seen better days and needs reconditioning for leaks. I had an ED which had the same problem as you. Also check your calipers for any leaks aswell as they can fail. Other than that i say your brake hydraulics has failed giving you the pedal to the ground problem.
The hand brake light is indicating that you are low on brake fluid.
