Theres nothing with having those tyres put on your car but the speedo may be off. If you were to put different sidewall heights, you have to take into account the width of it too.

and yes a 225 will fit on a 8.5 wide wheel. i think thats eh recommended size anyways? well a 215 is recommended for a 8". but again the stretch depends on the sidewall.
I had 225/35/19s put onto a 9.5" wheel. They had a decent amount of stretch.

sidewall?

ive currently got 245s both on 8.5 and 9.5s. dont care much for stretch, but yeh.

offsets high but aswell, forgot to mention. like 42 or something

btw wont be needing your tyres as for now, got another set.

EG. 245/40/18

The number 40 in the above size is what is known as the sidewall size, in other words..the height of the side part of the tyre.
Yeah you can put a bigger tyre on a smaller rim, just it looks funny sometimes if it bulges over.
Offset has nothing to do with the tyres fitting unless youre specifically asking whether it fits a specific car.

Yeah its alright, just sold them online.

Unlike 4wd, we can run what ever tire size an it shouldnt effect the drive train at all, but as far as performance goes, plenty of ppl have done it, heck even high end cars like porsche an that run em too, usually a thicker side wall at the rear.

Generally ppl have a higher profile at the rear because the tire they use is the major factor, performance orientated, side wall flex etc etc, and not merely for wank factor purpose.

But there are no negatives in using different profiles for front an rears :)

that could cause problems since the wheels are spinning at different speeds?

your tyres will wear unevenly you'll get more wear and tear on your sidewalls, the recommended psi is about 30 to 35 psi

what? im pretty sure hes talking about the tyre profile not the psi.

as Lukey said this will cause the ABS ECU to go into failsafe mode as yoru tyre runout will be different.
