Hi everyone. My name is Lee and I've been a Honda owner for a couple of months now.

Been browsing these forums for some time now and thought it was about time I said hello. Bought a second hand '98 Integra GSi DC4 not long ago. Completely stock - right down to the cassette player.

I'm still relatively new to cars (especially modding) but I know bits and pieces. Are there any particularly good threads that anyone would recommend for DC4 specific servicing, parts and basic modding? I've searched through a lot and found some good ones but there are so many and I'm sure I've missed some.

Also does anyone have any stories about their Teg? Words of warning or good points worth mentioning?

Hopefully you'll be seeing a bit more of me around these parts in the future. Cheers guys.

It's good that you got the updated GSi, looks better than the old GSi I think.

Haha thanks guys :D

Yeah I definitely will enjoy it - already am. I do like the look of the new one, but when I had enough money I was desperate enough to buy any version :P

best thing for learning would be an OEM service manual. Google DC2/DC4 service manual.

If I had a DC4, I wouldn't bother too much about engine mods (unless you have grandiose ideas) and focus on suspension.

Yeah thanks mate I found one! After scanning over the 1900 pages I actually found the answers to a few questions I had. Champion.

Actually that reminds me when I took this baby for a test drive the guy had the manual and log book but when I picked it up a few days later he'd cleaned it out. Should have chased him for those...

I wasn't looking any engine mods anytime soon, but can I ask why you say that? Is it cos there isn't too much potential to be gained regardless of what's done? Sorry I haven't been into cars / Hondas that long and I'm just trying to wrap my head around all the different models and specs and what not.

Unless you go the turbo route, you will be paying a lot per horsepower if you keep it n/a. Cost effectiveness isn't really there.

Handling mods will make the most difference. But that's me, I prefer a slower car that handles good over vise versa. With your Gsi, you will get much more bang for buck doing it that way, and you'll have a car nice-looking lowered car to boot.

Is it a manual? TBH they aren't a fast car, but they aren't as slow as people make out. I test drove a BB6 vti-r and didn't notice much difference, could have said something about the quality of that car though.

Yeah it's a manual. And no it's not the fastest car but it's definitely not the worst. I guess that's where Mikes thinking comes in. I probably won't be taking it out to the track in the near future so for now maybe the suspension route would be best for getting started right now.

Did a service on it yesterday with a noticeable improvement in ride smoothness. No performance increase which is ok, but the condition of the fuel filter and spark plugs was a little concerning. Guess that's why you always do one soon after you pick up a second hand car.
