Hi guys,

I've been driving my boosted FD2 around for a couple of days now and sometimes when I am down at the very low rev range doing a turn or waiting at the lights, the car just dies imminently. The car is currently throwing a CEL which will get checked out on Saturday, but otherwise the car drives perfectly normal.

Any ideas?

What ECU?

Standard ECU with Emanage Ultimate

In the morning on cold startup it idles at 1000rpm then drops suddenly to 800 and goes back up

Sounds like a set-up / tuning issue.
Take it back to your tuner & see what they can do.

Is it wired in or patch harness?
Also, did you use the TPS input from pedal sensor or throttle feedback position?
Has the cold idle up thermo valve been removed?

Hey. Got the code read as "Exhaust Gas Reading". Apparently the ECU is not happy with it...they cleared the code but it has popped up again.

I have a feeling the unsteady idle has something to do with the pod filter connected directly to the MAF sensor causing turbulence...I also get the feeling of unsteady acceleration while driving low-mid range rpm

Who is doing your tuning in Melbourne? You should take it down to Trent at Chequered Tuning (www.chequeredtuning.com/)

Yeah I got the tuning done at Chasers by Paul. I'm quite happy with it all just needs a little tweaking...I might try Cihan from etuner.com.au since he specialises in emanage.

Seems like I've fixed the problem!

Swapped out the generic pod filter that came with the turbo kit for my old apexi power intake (with heatshield).

The difference is amazing...no more idle hunting, no more jerking between shifts, no more stuttering under low acceleration.

Who knew it would be so simple?
