I currently have a 96' GSR and i'm looking for a new intake to put on.

I narrowed it down to an AEM based on the good things i have heard about them. I was just wondering, would the Type R CAI fit my GSR intake if I put step down piping just before it?

The reason i ask this is because the AEM Type R intake is 3" and the GSR one is 2.75"

Get the CAI that is built for the model of your car. In the end of the day, its basically just a pipe with a filter on the end. A lot of forum members would argue that your better off making your own intake pipe and putting the filter that you want on the end. So there is no point in buying the Type R CAI instead imo.
If you have a Gsi (little confused with op, is your car US imported or was it a typo?) then the Type R CAI will fit in you engine bay, but the vti-r one will not.

I don't know if you own a GSR or a GSi but I can answer your question either way:

Type R intake will fit the GSi (LS etc. the states)

Type R intake will not fit VTi-R (GSR in the states)

haha, my bad guys, yes i actually have a VTi-R.
I've just been on team-integra too much and started referring it to a GSR instead.

Awesome, just the information i was looking for. Just figured if the type R would fit, why not go the 3' instead of the 2.75' but im sure it's not going to make that much of a significant difference anyway. Thanks again.
