yesterday i started my v6 accord and it idled at 1000rpm and then jumped up too 2000rpm and it continues to do this wot the fug is wrong with it im starting to wish i kept my ford.....

Clean your idle control valve and that should fix your problem.

if your engine is cold maybe
or maybe your car thinks its a rotary

on the intet manifold near the throttle body.

has your engine check light ever come on

are you using more fuel than normal by any chance ???

yeh do what a couple of peeps have said, the IAC (intake air control) is a cylindrical black thing the size of a c sized battery with 2 hoses the thickness of a pencil conected to it ( coolant hoses)

all this is connected to the plenum chamber by 2 bolts, undo these, take alook at the guaze and it might well be blocked, get some carby cleaner in a car and spray and scrub with a tooth brush, even better use compressed air. bolt it back on and wahlah.

also, check all your vacuum hoses that are conected to the plenum chamber, i had one of them pop off the other night and my car di exactly the same thing as yours.

my car sometimes does this when its cold in the mornind, but mines carbed.

well its been at the auto elec for 3 days and still cant find the prob...im gonna sell it its got the better of me...i wonder wot a 98 aniversary v6 accord without leather and 150000kms is worth....

wtf? are you serious, dude, u give up waaaay to easy. take it to someone that knows their shet and get it fixed, its probably something very simple.


i'll buy it for 5 grand. seeing that its ferked ay?
