I want to congradualate Damien Mach with his new PB @ Wakefield Park1:04.2

To date, its the first N/A Honda to make it into the 1:04's barrier setting a new benchmark for other N/A FWD's. Not only did Damien set a new PB, he had also topped the timing sheet at Shift Performance trackday yesterday by over 1.5 seconds. Well done Damien!

The car is still in its stages of development. We'll be further working on setting up the chassis, weight reduction and aero dynamics of the car over the summer season. Keep an eye out for this car, im sure it will break into the 1:03's in the near future :)

Circuit Club 3/12/2011 Update
Team BYP decided to take full advantage of the good weather condition before it gets too hot to put down a good lap time. Thanks to the guys at Circuit Club, we were fortunate to have a spot after being booked out a week prior.

Both me and Jimmy decided to shared the driving at this event to further test and tweak the suspension and chassis. It was about time we put on R compound to see what this car was capable off, Used Advan 225/45/17 050's where fitted for this event.

After a few morning sessions with a few slight suspension tweaks, the car recorded a time of 1:03.5. It was quite surprising to see such a quick time from this car. We were thinking there was a possibility it would beat BYP S/C DC2R time of 1:03.2. Based on data, we could see this car dipped into the 1:02's with its power output, gearing, and tyre choice. For anyone who wants to know how quick this engine combination is, top speed 198kph :)

We saved the best to last. Managing bad traffic on the last timed session, we knew there was only one good shot at the 1:02's. I was able to string together one good lap in, resulting in a best lap time of 1:03.0

The Team was over the moon with this result. This is the quickest FWD on R compound around Wakefield Park!

Look like we are now aiming for the 1:02's in the new year with a few additions to the car :)

the car definately has 1.03s in it. It was unfortunate that I was too stubborn to buy new tyres as i thought the hankooks would last a 4th trackday so i had to deal with alot of understeer as the fronts were worn way past the indicators.

Update: Was going to take the car to jdm yard meet to promote their business but the Tran brothers had other ideas as they wanted to have a turn at the new setup..
Fortunately the day was perfect for setting pbs as it was only a max of 23 degrees today..
As predicted the car would set an easy 3 in good weather and decent rubber as Benny set a 1.03.5 in his first session and a 1.03.0 in his second smashing my old record of 1.04.2
The car is now the fastest Honda in wakefield on R compound beating out both the DC2R and Bronze EG supercharged

Typo. He was in his K20 EK. He mention he's tyres weren't as grippy as Honda nats hence over 1 sec slower then P.B for him.

my ventus Z214s were worn so we popped on the advan A050 mediums

both tyres were medium compound
data showed that the z214s when new gripped a bit harder than the a050s new
The 1.04.2 time was done on the 4th trackday with the same z214s so the tyres had already lost a lot of grip.
The 1.03.0 by benny was done with Brandons A050 rear tyres (replaced my front z214s) that had been used for 2 trackdays so it provided a fair bit more grip.
The z214s are good if you just want to go hot lap after hot lap as they tend to fade alot slower whereas the a050s are only good for 2-3 hot laps per session and then they start fading.
Personally i would choose the z214s over the a050s as they are much cheaper and last longer but critics would say they arent a "real" r compound tyre so from now on ill run a050s

nahhh everyone would just disregard the time cause theyll just say its on slicks... well stick with r compound for now n if we're really itching to go quicker then maybe we might use proper slicks.
