Power windows motor or.. ?

Hey guys, my sister was driving her accord and suddenly the driver's side window fell into the door panel.

I removed the interior door trim and had a look around and notice there is a metal cable loosely hanging.

when i push the window up manually and press the button down, the window is pulled down by the motor. however when i pull the button, the window doesnt go up. If i let go of my hand while the window is up, it'll come down due to gravity, it doesnt stay in place. (hope these descriptions are clear?)

will this mean i need to change the whole power window motor or i can reconnect the metal cable?

sounds like you need to change your window regulator.

if you can still hear the motor working somewhat that's a good sign.

It could be one of the mounting bolts on a channel or the actual glass became loose or came off, then the window feel into the door awkwardly.

Maybe just the window needs to be reattached and realigned.

mechanic says its the window frame not the motor, all sorted out now :thumbsup:
