Hi OH Team,

I'm thinking of giving a bit more of an 'edge' (if only subtle) to the front of my EK sedan and wanted your thoughts on the below - as the title says it's a mugen badge on a CTR lip.

I guess I'm trying to go for a similar look to the Mugen badges that appeared on Mugen front lips:

What do you think  or :thumbdwn: ?

IMO, id leave it as it is, since its not a mugen lip, but just a oem lip.

Looks much cleaner with out the badge :)

Thanks guys, might leave it as is then, plus like you say it's not a Mugen lip anyway :)

Cheers fellas

Mesh grill instead of the plastic holes (just above your proposed badge)?

Hey mate, yeh probably not - just not a massive fan of those mesh inserts...

would love to get some CTR headlights, but so hard to justify the cost!

Alvis why not DIY? i'm sure you got the time and experience to make it look legit.. buy a 2nd hand set of headlights if you want to keep yours as is. btw why not get a subtle windscreen mugen sticker, 100% srs. brother used to have one on his ek w/ full mugen kit and looked clean as

Yeh DIY is an option on the lights... have to see someone else's in person before I do mine though - maybe Sat at the meet I can see someone's handy work :)

Yep, I remember you telling me about your brother's EK with Mugen kit, that would have looked sweet as...

You going to the meet on Sat, if so might see you there...?

Ahh that's not fair man... anyway back on topic guys - I went through my 'Honda draw of parts' and found these Mugen Power decals I ordered way back. While they are too big the way they are I was thinking i could change them into a subtle decal above the side indicator.

Pics aren't the best and you'll have to use your imagination a bit because the plastic won't obviously be around it, but you get where I'm going with it... The last pic gives you the best idea...

Mugen strip only above indicator

Dodgy photoshop but you can see what it might look like without the plastic around it - looks subtle without having the whole logo above/around it, so really only means something to those people who know what it means... I like that.

Finally decided this is where part of the Mugen decal should go.

The 96-98 Mugen (unlimited) Civic actually had a decal (I think it was metal too) on the left hand side rear boot which said 'Mugen equipped' - I think that kind of thing is a bit '90s' these days - it's more about subtlety these days IMO. Apart from this model direct from Mugen/Honda, the Mugen equipped decal was given to any customer who bought a Mugen ECU, header or exhaust.

So given they're pretty rare these days, ie around $200 to pick up a genuine one, this is my 2011 interpretation of the decal.

It's subtle, different (hopefully in a good way) and kinda adds a bit of mystery to the car but I think it still looks clean and doesn't detract from it (sorry the photo is not the best):
