ok lets think about this for a second.

I ahve never done a B series swap into an eg but im going to assume you need the following
Mounts, motor, box, drive shafts, wiring. For a B18c7 i would guess around the 7k or so for basic set up (prob a little more if you upgrade the exhaust)

Now for a kswap
Mounts, motor, box, shafts, radiator, wiring, header, exh aust misc bits. For a k24 with a k20 box your looking around 10-12k for the full swap (if you go k24 with a non type r box its a bit cheaper)

Based on my rough numbers the k24 with a k20 box will be a much much better base, newer motor, great power with out having to open it up etc etc.

I just sold my B18c7 to do a K swap.

You can have a b18c2 fitted for around 5k but it all depends on what you want from the car. If dollars aren't a factor, do a k-swap. You can get complete k20 half cuts from around 6k, then take into account kswap headers, conversion mounts, shifter linkages etc, add another 4 we'll say and some labour (maybe $1500 or so) and you will have an eg with 150ish fwkw doing low 12's easy. Otherwise but the b in and start from there.
You then need to work out correct spring rates, brake packages, wheel/tyre combo and chassis modifications to handle all the power reliably
