Hi Team,

Are there any recommended short shifters out there for a D series - I was looking at B&M but not sure what else might be good out there?

Thanks for any advice,
Cheers,
Alvis

a cheapie, is to find a dc2 shifter and chop it down to fit into the ek shifter linkages, and it does make a noticeable difference. And it looks cool with the dual bend :D

I personally dislike shortshifter as they can and will ruin the gearbox and its syncros, which is an expensive bill to pay...

And i have a feeling thats how i ruined my first gearbox lol....

I'm undecided now after reading that thread - so would i be right in saying it's like changing gears (in terms of how it would feel on the shift) with your hand half way down a stock setup?

Worth it or not worth it, ie do you really notice the difference to stock and fo those who have, would you do it again?

Short shifter only changes the feel, not the actual speed the gear box changes gears, so realistically, ur doin more harm than good, but thats not to say its bad, heaaaps of ppl have had good exp with short shifters, but me on the other hand, not so much

The car can only change gears as fast what the syncros allow, so dont go smashin gears cause the throw is short, cause than u b really damaging the box

well for me the shifter length stayed the same only the throw got shorter.

so for me i found it was a very big difference from stock.
