Hi guys just need a bit of help.

My tacho in my eg6 cluster is very erratic. Even when idling, it may drop to zero and stay there for a while, it sometimes drops a couple thousand revs when im on WOT etc. I've had a look into it and a lot of people said it is probably the ICM.

I have also done some datalogging and noticed that the Hondata s300 doesnt show an erratic 'tacho'.

My question is does the hondata s300 use the same circuit as the tacho on the cluster? If it does, that means if i get a new cluster, it should be solved.

Thanks!

are you using a obd1 to obd2 cable ? if so the problem could be in that.

hook up a different cluster and see if it still happens which i think it may.

my eg6 cluster did this as well.. i don't think it's anything to do with your wiring or loom or whatever.

but yeah as above test another cluster.

my eg6 cluster shat itself 1 day.. revs wound to like '14k' and stayed there.. then one day it worked it again.. common prob with eg6 clusters.
