Hey guys im new to this forum but i havnt actually gone around asking this yet so please help me out here.....
im not sure if this is a repost but here is my problem...
Everytime i go through a corner hard my tyres scraps the body i am currently on stock eg5 shocks and dc2r springs my tyre profile is 195/55/R15...
do you reckon its the tyres over inflated or the could it be the shocks or springs or someelse like my lower control arms or rear camber??? please help me out guys cheers

Tyres are a little wide on the wall. But shouldn't matter that much, roll your guards or put eg springs back on.

For a rim under 7" I would ride on 195/50/15.

rim size/width/offset?

with that sussy setup and tyres there shouldn't be a problem..are you sure its the tyre scrapping the body.. any evident tyre wear?

well everytime i turn hard corners i hear scraping and i know my body is getting scrapped so and when i get out to check there are scrap marks on the body and my previous set of wheels i had tyre wear. when i have people sitting in the back going at about 60km/h it scraps because the body gets lowered.

problem with my eg springs are that they were worn hence why i changed to dc2r and then get a new whole set wheels n tyres and it just started scraping again

worn springs could be a factor/

If you don't know the offset, can you post up pics?

check your shocks. try a bounce test on each corner.

your mudflaps? splash guards?

put the car onto a hoist, use a pry bar and check your bushes..

- slip the pry bar into the gaps on the lower control arms , subframe and etc,
- move the pry bar around and see if there is unnecessary movement

check underneath your car, splash guards (both under and in your wheel arch's)
mudflaps?

195/55 shouldnt be a problem, 5mm height diff compared to a 195/50 isnt a big factor considering you're on stock height.

or like others said, check your shocks. Bounce each corner of the vehicle. It shouldnt bounce more than twice.

check your ride height. *measure from your centre bore of the wheel to the wheel guard and compare it* do this on a dead, straight, flat and even surface

judging by that mate, everything looks the norm. Try what others have recommended before you take it to places, wouldnt be surprised if it was something to do with your spring or shock. Try diagnose at home before going out and spending money on something.

the pic doesnt look like its on stock height man, i've put on stock dc2r springs onto my previous EG, the height was pretty high (i'll say around 5 finger gaps on stock em1 rims with 195/65 tyres).. By the look of the pic, it seems like you have 2 finger gaps? so im assuming its lowered?

try to get side on pics man, alot more poeple will have more ideas rather than seeing a pic like that..

Does the car seem to bounce around a fair bit when driving? Like if you go down a bit of a dip does it scrape out then? Or only when cornering?
I just had my guards rolled and the panel beater that did it said it wasn't the guards that was the main problem it was this piece of metal sticking out inside the guards.

within those period of time, you're springs probably got even more worn out and by the time you put in your new wheels its already saggy..

But,

i could be wrong.

i only swaped the springs in 2 months ago before i got the new wheels on it couldnt of already been worn out i think its the tyre size then

It wouldn't be the tyre size..they definitely shouldn't scrape.

I say take it into a suspension or tyre shop and have them look at it.

They should be able to find out what's causing it.

I suggest you get your car onto a lift and try to find out where the scrubbing is occuring . I had srubbing issues when i had put my axis og's on and their +25 offset .

when we lifted the car , it was evident that in rear , the top of the wheels were hitting the wheel wheel . you could see black tyre marks .
another way is , apply tyre shine to your tyres and drive locking your steering wheel left and right . if its hitting the guards youll realize when you swipe your finger in the inner guard . tyre shine should be all over your fingers if its hitting the guards . You could also use chalk . apply chalk and if it does scrub , the chalk would hit what evers scrubbing and thus apply the chalk to the culprit .

I got rid of the scaping by buying Cusco coilovers too stiffen the suspension . still didnt work .
I then purchased Front and Rear Camber arms . They were highly effective in my oppinion . I added neg 3 at front and 1.5 in the rear .
Doing this , it gave a bit of clearance at the front wheels when you lock your wheel left or right + gave a meaner stance :P .
Still with a bit of scrubbing , i got my guards rolled and slightly pulled .

your tyre size shouldnt be the problem . In my case , i did everything possible to stop the scaping .

I suggest :
Roll guards with a sight pull
Stiffer springs or raise
Adjustable Camber

after all this , i can finally say . i dont srub ! so hopefully youll be fine too !

goodluck .
