Hi All,

Im currently looking to upgrade to a larger family car and am looking at the 2011 Accord Euro and the Mazda6. As always I jump onto the forums when researching anything to get owners opinions and views on the car. My brief research here has found a lot of threads about a pinging issue in the model car that im looking at but they seem to date back to 2010 and older, so I have a few questions if you don’t mind helping me.

- Has this pining issue been resolved by Honda? I drove a new 2011 model last week for only a few km, it was literally brand new with only 2km on the clock and I didn’t hear any pinging
- How much would I be looking at for a new Luxury Navi accord euro? Has anyone managed to snap up a bargain? With the year end close I assume prices should be coming down I asked the dealer for a price and got the standard 48k full retail price, dealer wasn’t interested in negotiating.
- Service wise what are they like to run? Coming out of a 01 astra that has been fairly reasonable for servicing costs, timing belts around $600 and normal services are around the $300 mark, don’t think I have ever had a bill over $1000.
- For the members with kids, what is the boot space like? How easy is it to get a pram in the back and the weekly shopping? Can It be done or should I be looking at a larger car?
Thanks
Vukie

well for starters the k24a3 found in the euro has a timing chain, so no costly hassles there. Only real way to save on servicing is diy. Honda s should be on par if not cheaper than other cars servicing. don't know about recent model trunk space but during a pram I'm my friends euro 06 is a pretty 'snug' fit. Depend s on the size if the pram I guess.
