also, i know its all up to personal preference, like id probably rather buy a gtr if i only had 60k saved. but, doesn't this car beat the gtr round the track? just sayin

^ mwaku, at the end of the day, its fwd n/a, sure it may be quicker stock vs stock , but how many track orientated drivers will buy the gtr and keep it stock?
imho fair enough its a rare car, but even in japan the Type R range are supposed to be the cheap ecomonically friendly/ entry level track cars, not the 40k+ range we have to
pay for in australia. Its not an S2000, which is a true sports track car

curtis265
14-12-2011, 01:06 AM
yet it's faster than an s2k as well

is there any guide that you can import FD2R by myself?

DuffyFD

Canopy - no. This has been discussed before, and personal importing is the only viable way.

It wouldn't be too hard to get it in parts over here, but if it's ever found to be registered, they will have it crushed.

The feels fd2 is N/A and came 2nd behind a modded gtr35 around Tsukuba for the time attacks. Probably sounds bias cause i drive a fd, but its true.

Tsukuba is a small track that's why honda is good at it, if they raced at Fuji or Suzuka it would be a totally different story

Probably, as i said, its probably bias lol but i myself wouldnt pay 55k for a fd2r

sure a GTR the would be quick but its is a bloated supercar that drives itself, where is the fun in that. And I'd imagine it would send ya broke just servicing the bitch. Give me the FD2R thanks. !!

its a shame Honda Aust screwed us over and didn't bring it in. I'd have grabbed one.

This is what happens when people prefer "hot hatches" over a sports sedan. You cannot compare a FD2R to any GT-R as they are two completely different levels of car. Tho for this sort of money personally you could build a nice turbo S2K or go and hunt down the lucky guy who brought that Mugen RR a while back and pay an extra 10K for complete exclusiveness

is this the same chassis as the local model ? Whats stopping some kid here just swapping everything onto a local model for 1/3 the price ?

A friend of mine has already gone down that path. He has swapped a K20Z4 in, fitted Mugen RR kit etc etc (when it's just a FD1 chassis). Obviously he does not have the refined chassis like the FD2R, but nothing a shit load of bracing can't fix

its the same logic as a Eg with b18c , DC4 with K20 etc. With bracing and work the older chassis can match or beat the original chassis the motor came out of. But thats up to the individual to decide whether its worth it or not

only a enthusiast would spend 55k on a civic, everyone else who wants to go fast would buy gtr/sti/evo/rx7 lol

His talking bs, what evers on the RAWs car list is what is eligible for import.

Unless the dealer can hook u up with a seller in japan to sell you his car, than fat chance u will ever see the fd2r sell here

$54K man hes taking the advantage. At the end of the day its a civic and no way would i pay that much for one tbh. There are also alot of look alike fd2rs here..

DuffyFD
31-12-2011, 12:55 AM
not many look alike FD2R's actually, there's alot more plain mugen kits, or mugen RR kits. I'm yet to see anyone with a Type R kit

the worst part about the car is it looks like a shitty ricer mock up and not the real deal!

thats prob the worst value for $$$ car u could buy, its looks shit and doesnt go that quick for the money!
