Hey guys
So i thought to myself, its the festive season so why not buy a whole new sound system for my car which i love so much. I've put a bit of money into performance upgrades (exhaust CAI) (yes i know its only like 5hp, but still) so thought it was time to upgrade my sound system and get that doof doof going.
Just bought Alpine Type-S splits for front and rear doors, Types-S sub, mono amp for sub and 4/3/2 amp for speakers. I'm planning on disconnecting the rear 6x9's on the back carpet as they aren't necessary.
Was now just curious to see if anyone has done an upgrade like this and run it all of the factory head unit and if you have did you DIY or professionally and whats the sounds quality like. I would love to buy a double din DVD player for my cubbyhole but can't bring myself to fork out another $700 right now haha. Wondering if whether I should just buy it and complete it for good.
Any input would be much appreciated guys

If you can fork out a bit more go for the Type-R's though I havent heard the quality of Type-s, I've got Type-R Sub & Front component speakers and their pretty decent. Mines run on a 4 channel amp bridged with sub and fronts. Rears are not really necessary (so you can save a bit of money there) unless you want ur passengers to enjoy the sound too. Removed my cubbyhole to fit a single din head unit cause i rarely use the unit itself as I use the remote. All professionally done :)

yeah couldn't quite afford the type-r but ive had friends who say the type-s is plenty and i dont think ill still be able to use the whole amount of power they give, type r would be the dream but thought id be sensible haha. bought splits for rears as i just want the sound inside the car to be insane so thought may as well go for it. its looking like i might have to go professionally, me and my mates want to do it but not sure how tricky it will be probably will give it a try ourselves and if we cant get the professionals to do it haha. im guessing because you got it done professionally they did the single din fascia because im having trouble finding any fascias for the cubbyhole even when using the item number ive dug up from old threads

Pretty easy to do but i would suggest you also buy a headunit just to make life easier if not you will need a few line out converters so you can use rcas.

I would be very interested to see how this looks like too.
Funny googling this part number doesn't bring up a thing (http://www.google.com.au/#sclient=psy-ab&hl=en&safe=off&site=&source=hp&q=08B06SDE700&pbx=1&oq=08B06SDE700&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=590l590l0l1519l1l1l0l0l0l0l0l0ll0l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.,cf.osb&fp=6c8ce8692e604857&biw=1280&bih=963)

I work at JB Hifi and this is the same fascia kit I used for my Euro: http://www.ryda.com.au/Aerpro-Honda-Accord-Facia-Kit-p/fp997862.htm
It fit really neatly and I used the pocket underneath to mount my Kicker remote bass control :) It's definitely worth upgrading the sound, I went full house on mine and it sounds great. For mine I went with an Alpine CDE123EBTI Head Unit, two sets of JL Audio C3-650 splits, one set of JL Audio C2-690 6x9's, two Kicker 12" L7 subs, two Kicker 11ZX650.4 4 channels and one 11ZX1500.1 monoblock and the sound that it makes is unreal! Here's what my boot looks like at the moment:

that fascia wont work for a double din player but? or am i wrong?
and wow you have fully decked it out, the sound must be incredible, im a poor uni student so just got medium quality for now haha, maybe later ill get some JL installed
boot looks awesome, love the double sub look especially when that bass is kicking, definitely going to by a second sub as soon as i can afford it to complete it.
how are the 6x9's? i wasnt sure if i got them as well if it would be too bassy or not as clear so for the meantime ive just got the 4 splits and the sub.. but if it adds extra bass and has good quality sound might need to consider that as well

I had a chat to one of the reps at work and he said its possible to make that fascia fit a double din with some modification but I just went with a good single din unit instead. Haha yeah I know how it is, I go to uni too :) I've got the 6x9's so they are basically set up as more of a rear fill rather than providing a heap of bass, those subs give more than enough on their own haha. But every speaker is amped which is just how I like it :)

yeah i should get a single din more practical but am silly and want to spend the extra dough just coz the double din looks better haha (teenagers) ahh i see, im lazy ill probably just pay a bit extra for the honda one, want to do as little work as possible haha. ahh cool i see ill get this set up done and then knowing me i will most probably add to it, havent stopped modding my car since ive got it, its an addiction.
did you install this system yourself or did your mates at your work do it for you?
