Hey guys,

ATM I am in the process of putting a b18c jdm itr motor in my eg! :D Well i bought a few bolt ons and one of those bolt ons were a skunk2 intake manifold. After doing some research I found out its a replica of the stock itr one. My question to you guys is, has anyone experience before and after result of the skunk 2 manifold? I wont be able to compare since mine is going straight in.

Just want to know if i wasted my money lol. Thanks

here is a short clip of it installed on the block.

Skunk2 Racing's Pro-Series Intake Manifold improves airflow increasing horsepower by as much as 8% over stock manifolds on stock engines and even more on modified or forced-induction engines. Skunk2 manifolds significantly increase horsepower between 3000-8800 rpm; The new Pro-Series design features a 22% increase in power over our previous design. Engineered with a larger plenum and tapered runners, Skunk2 manifolds increase and accelerate airflow, and are designed to increase the effects of wave scavenging at the engine's optimum operating RPM range providing a broad overall increase in usable power.
Each runner entry is also modified to balance airflow between cylinders. Oversized throttle bodies can be used as a result of the modified IAC opening on the flange.

Thanks snoop. Yeah I seen that review, I just wasnt sure if it was the same for the type r since alot of people saying it's identical to the stock itr one. Atleast I know I kind of didn't waste my money. But if anyone out there has had experience with the itr one please let me know how you went. :)

get urself a hondata intake manifold gasket to go with it - u may as well put one in while the manifold is off

Yeah I got a thermal gasket. Had to put longer studs in since the gasket is thicker. But yeah it's all in now just waiting for other parts to get this engine started.

from what i have read - they arnt a very good value for money upgrade on the B16/B18
(unless u are converting a B18c 2 stage snail manifold to single stage)
the only benefit i can really see is that the materials and tolerances will be better than OEM
and it will have support for larger DIA throttlebodies

but on the H22a apparently they work wonders - really helps the rev range and pronounces the vtec crossover

somebody else can probably elaborate a bit more

there were some comparisons made between intake manifolds on the K20a...

yeah thats what ive been seeing on other forums... but then skunk2 claim to have a power increase up to 8% and a 22% over their older design.
Probaly just another marketing ploy lol

Thanks for the replies, now I kind of regret getting it. Could've put that money else were! Lol
