Hi, I was wondering what car I could get with my tight budget. My budget is ranged from $20,000 to $30,000. I am having trouble picking out a good car for myself and family. What do you guys suggest?
I need one before this coming christmas as I would like to go on a holiday with my friends and family. Help is much appreciated! :)

Haha, that does look like a beast indeed! Not looking to make my family feel sick through the corners :D!
Not really looking for performance, Preferred 4 doors and a somewhat fuel efficient car :s
As long as its worth the price haha

Would think long and hard about some of those new VW's. I've read two articles now that say they really chew the oil big time and can seize up quite young.
Stay with Aus or Jap cars, otherwise some other ones aren't bad like the new Kia's and the Skoda's. I personally avoid Euro cars just for repair costs.

Op seeing as your post says the word "Family" thats probably the most important thing i value enough to make the decision as appose to getting a car to go quicker.
The keywords thou is "FAMILY" "TIGHT BUDGET"
I would definitely recommend the Accord Euro .
Get an Automatic CL9 or even the CU2 (the new version)
Why automatic cause it will still be easier for your wife/girlfriend to drive.
With a nice budget like that you can option up with leather heated seats, automatic window wipers, all electrics. Safety with so many airbags to protect better for the ones u love.
The extra money you then save goes into the on road costs like REGO and Insurace.
The parts and maintenance , insurance wont cost the earth like a EURO (BMW, MERC, VW, AUDI etc)

Not entirely correct. There are massive differences. I'd prefer a Skoda over VW especially for family use.

I think "Same thing, different clothes" would be more accurate - same platform, different panels and trim levels...
To the OP, you really need to get out and inspect and drive a few different cars, take the family and get them all loaded up and see if it works for you. What some people love and recommend you might hate - whether its the way it drives or the seating position or just the way the indicators sound - you won't know until you drive or at least sit in!

Subaru Liberty GT wagon, the best decision you'll make.
Get a newish 2nd hand one as you won't be able to afford new.

Lol damn sexy EVO GET IT! YOU WONT REGRET THAT SEXY THANG!
on the serious note, accord euro, camry sportivo be a smart chocie,
Owned both of them, the euro offers more in power terms, while the camry offers more spacious interior, both cars offer great fuel eco(near 600km full tank) , high n cap rating, great aftermarket support and out of all things these cars last forever, and i mean forever lol no joke, dads last camry was @ 566k kms lolol and it still starts up goes to the shops fine (only problem atm its rusted as shit and no rego)
PS: sadly the euro got written off, some hoon raped it wit 4 other cars while parked @ the station.

Sportivo is faster i think but it's still a camry.
The new euros get about 800 to a tank look at one of the threads in the accord euro subforum

Ya they were when they Toyota Offered the v6 in the sportivo range, but in 2007 they stopped in Aust production line, now the engine is same across all models T_T Due to Aurion Being Released. The accord euro is deffenatly faster (@ national park my mate left me in the dust in his euro)

Now i think about it
Did anyone suggest the 8th gen civics?
You can spec it up and it be a comfortable car for your family.
The civic sport isn't that bad when i test drove it from a friend.
