cxi to ek9 exterior.

Hey guys. kinda new to the forum.

Ive got a ek cxi. 1999 so its facelift.

just wanted to know about changing it up to look like an ek9.

I've got the ek taillights with white indicators.
type r grille in the mail.
bought some black ek9 headlights off ebay. ( yes i now know they probably don't have parkers, but no biggie i guess)
just wanted to know about the front and rear bars.

how do those lips screw on? don't really feel like buying new bars cause theres nothing wrong with mine.

i found them on ebay for about 150$ landed. are they the way to go?

not really into the whole eke spoiler thing. ( but it is growing on me)

also I'm lucky its black cause everything is already colour coded lolol

for facelift you'll only need the front and rear lips. if you buy replicas theyre installed by self tapping screws and double sided tape. oem probably has proper mounting spots and fitment will be perfect! just source out an em1 front lup cos its the same as ek9.

Front and rear bars have pre-marked holes already for you to install the lip kit.

how much lower does the back one sit? will it cover the actual muffler?

also will i need to get rid of the peeshooter tip? aha

There is a difference between the type r and normal cxi bonnet,
The 2 little holes to clip the red honda badge on.

Tell us how those ebay headlights goes cause im thinking about them too.

Yeah basically.
If i remember correctly the badge sits 13mm above from the middle/bottom of the hood.

anyone had any experience spraying the lips?
the polyurethane ones?

Give it a good sand with 600grit sand paper wash off residue and dry and use plastic primmer. Than apply ur choice of color on. Start with light coats and work your way with medium coat. Then give it a light gloss coat and finish it by giving a good gloss coat

plastic primer? where do i get that from?

also the headlights came out pretty well.
fitment was a little off. only 3 of the 4 bolts would fit.

Any autostore shud have it.
Also trick to good finah is make sure the primer is smooth.
Sand down n respray the primmer.
Also the headlights look great ;D

thinking of leaving it in that abs plastic thing..
cause then it will be same as the side skirts.. hmm id rather paint it but. ill see when i get it

hey i have the lip kit on my k its just a cxi as well i just held it in with screws well myself and the old owner before i bought it but he gave it to a panel shop and got the grill, front bar (due to stone chips), front lip and rear lip painted because the car is white can't remember how much it was it came to gather really well i would put a pic up but not sure how to do it lol with the URL thing.

Do headlights point the right way? If they're from USA they will be pointing wrong way eg LHD vehicles
