Hi guys,
So I have a audm delsol b16 motor+box in my civic, i'm looking to rebuild (just bearings and seals) my box when I put a lsd and Fd in.
I'm just curious, I've found a place that sells bearing and seal kits (linked below) but i'm not sure what I need to do with diff bearings, i'll be running an itr sized diff so will I need to run b16 bearings or b18? Or one with shims, etc? I remember reading something on this the other day but for the life of me I can't find it!
Also as i'm changing the final drive(including countershaft), will the bearings on the countershaft be different from the b16 at all?
-note i'm going to get a shop to rebuild my box but i'm probably going to order the bearings from overseas as it'll be cheaper

Thanks!!

foy if you bought the lsd/fd package that was on here you will need itr gear to make it fit
i had a look into it and found the set up was only for a 98 spec itr box

Just found this post from Adrian in an old thread;
Fail...
B18C LSD or any OEM LSD for that matter does not fit B16A gearbox...
Problems are:
Final drive ring gear incorrect ID & PCD for bolts
Fix - 4.2 or 4.4 final drive ring gear required (use B18C2) - count teeth to confirm.
Change lsd & final drive into B16A box...
Problem moves to 1st counter gear.
B16A 1st counter gear ID = 42mm
B18C 98 spec 1st counter gear ID = 47mm
So B18C 98 spec countershaft, distance collar, needle bearing & 1st counter gear required as a fix.
As for problem with thrust shims...
You're doing it wrong... :p
Don't take offence, I am trying to help... LOL
Now from my research I have a 98 spec countershaft, so i'll need to order the distance collar, needle bearing & 1st counter gear?

Ok so i've order;
23914-P80-E30 - distance collar x1
23421-P80-E30 - Countershaft 1st gear x1
91107-P80-E31 - Needle bearing x2
As I already have a 98 spec countershaft, so hopefully this will be the end of that problem.
Still have the problem of not knowing what bearing to run, anyone?????

from those part numbers, look up diif bearings part numbers.
punch in part numbers in oemacura.com or other website and it will give dimension.
make sure 4.4fd & 4.7fd have same ID for the bearings.
if its the same then just gotta find out if the bearings are enclosed ball or tapered/roller
for b16a tranny/clutch casing
hope that helps.
also, try buy bearings from local supplier like 'bearing wholesalers'
i bought lsd bearing $20, where honda quoted $120.
i confirmed dimension and type using partnumber dimension from oemacura

A guy on honda-tech says to run b18 bearings with a b18 diff, just need to confirm.
Also I ordered all my bearings from honda through Jesse streeter for less then half of what I would pay from a dealership over here ;)

Best to run enclosed type bearings and not the taper roller bearings and their associated shims ( when he mentioned b18 bearings that's prob what he meant - enclosed type ) which makes the task of checking the bearing preload much simpler. With your ITR diff you need the enclosed type ITR bearings with the built in offset, or you need to add shims to cover the 3mm total difference with non offset bearings. If you read the post carefully by dangerjbl as suggested by dougie_504, all the issues and answers you need are there.
So long as you have the complete ITR setup you should be all good ie ITR diff, final drive ring gear with the larger ID ( ie 116.8mm vs b16a's smaller 109mm ), ITR 98+ specific countershaft 1st gear with the larger hole to fit the ITR 98+ specific collar with its specific needle bearing pairs with the right curvature to match thru. As shown below avail from one of many online shops. You should be all set.

Perfect thank you! I have an itr sized diff (osgiken) final drive, counter shaft. And i've got the first counter gear, collar and needle bearing on the way as well. Plus i've ordered a full set of bearings and seals from honda japan apart from the diff bearings as it already had fresh ones on there but I just needed to know the specifics.
Thanks again ! +1 rep.
