What mechanically apart from say the fuel filter or pump, ECU and cam sensors - could cause low rpm drops in a small NA car?

This is on and off and happens irreguarly. For instance driving up to a stop sign and then the revs drop and car dies, but a re-crank all ok.

I Do not think honda have Airflow sensor

Only the latest models have them starting with the 1.8L Civic (R18A engine). Now I think also the CU2 Euro has an airflow sensor (CL9 did not have one).

Perhaps main relay

check and clean the IACV and FITV, calibrate the TPS, clean out the throttle body and intake manifold

check main relay and ignition coil/module

replace the FPR (adjustable bling ebay kits are only $40)
clean out the fuel rail, check the fuel pump

if your using cheap crappy fuel and the tank is near on empty the crap in ur old tank can cause problems as well
try putting in an octane boost and clean or total fuel system cleaner (both made by nulon)
