Hondata Flashpro Discussion Thread

Gents,

I have had enough of this crap. The amount of emotional ups and downs I've gone through in the past week trying to find an engine management system that works is a joke!

I've done abit of searching on here and on other forums, hondata/tsxclub/acurazine and I do recognise alot of your names (vaikis, marquee, cYn, etc) so I think combined, we can sort this out.

I personally do NOT want to do the Kpro route, nor do I want a simple reflash - I want to do what I want with the motors, coming from a K swapped DC2 with a K24, the K24 factory tune in our accords is complete dog shit. Not to mention the DBW response is terrible.

Honda done a great job with regards to vehicle dynamics, but they need to do a better job with the mechanicals. A 4.7FD like the Americans would of been a nice starts.

Anyway I'm getting slighty off topic here..

I guess the first port of call would be - who here has actually SEEN/KNOW that a CL9 in Australia is successfully using a Flashpro without any important features disabled (CC, VSA, etc) or even a non US CL9 for that matter..

My logical breakdown to give it a go;

-Compare pinouts between US & AUDM ECU's
-Create an adapter harness based on findings
-Integrate American sensors if need be (FPR, EVAP) or modify the pinout by placing a dummy circuit that would correspond to a "healthy" sensor.
-Happy days.

I know this can be done.. if there is a will there is a way, I just don't want to go blowing money on an ECU and Flashpro then have it as a paper weight because I don't think a yank will buy it off me unless I sell it for dirt cheap...

Let's work this out.

forget Flashpro with AUDM or EUDM stock ECU, we don't have full CAN Bus support, same with Acura TSX ECU's from 04-06 years. We can try only the same Hondata solution as it's for Acura TSX 04-06, just use Acura TSX 07-08 ECU + Flashpro for Acura TSX. I know a few guys who will be testing this solution on EUDM accords, report here when all would be done ;)

I agree, I daresay it's alot easier to just have the unit sourced over there and chipped ready to go regardless..

How have they gone for pinouts? Is it exactly the same? I'm trying to get my hands on a USDM Service Manual for the 04-08 TSX. If you know one, pass it on..

All is plug and play, why you need pinouts ? You just remove yours ECU and connect TSX ECU 07-08 + Flashpro - there should be no any CEL lights as Hondata disabled P0498, P0453, P0128 errors in FlashPro manager. These 3 errors you get when connect TSX ECU 04-05 in EUDM or AUDM accord cl9.
We will check this in a few weeks by testing.

Chris, im in the same boat as you so i went to speak to REVZONE in person, drove 40 mins in hope to get a firm answer in what engine management suits me for a reasonable price. (i have only intake and headers)

Answer i got was "K pro".

Price: 2360 not including tune. So i dare say 3K all up! for 10KW!

Answer: well mine at least, went for greddy ultimate. Nowhere near as good but ill get it done for 1/3 of the price. (only minor mods).

Acura TSX reflashed ECU could be better then greddy ultimate, just search USA TSX forums who can sell used - long time ago I got for 400 USD with shipping to Europe. Problem that you would have CEL light in dashboard which doesn't do anything in terms of performance, all cl9 features will work.
2360 price is insane for K-Pro, from USA you can get for ~ 1700 USD new K-Pro + K-Tuned dual harness for CL9

If we test Flashpro and it will work on the CL9, then such solution will cost ~ 745 USD flashpro unit + 460 USD TSX 07-08 ECU = 1205 USD

P.S. in K-Pro and Flashpro pricing I don't include TAX and shipping price.

So the guys with EVAP/FPR CELs, etc are the guys using the 07-08 ECU in a 04-06' TSX?

I've got a '08 Euro ('07 build date) - you're telling me in theory.. everything should be fine?

By the way, what country cars are these being tested on? You seem to be in the loop with the EUDM market abit too much!

wtffffffffff 2360 for a kpro! lmao. you can get them for 1300-1400 if you look in the right places, even cheaper again if you source it from the US, though you run the risk of buying a counterfeit.

Any idea on the timeframe we're looking at for you to have the results from this tested on a EUDM CL9? I beleive I read in another thread that you were awaiting results also.

Yes but since im not too familiar where and what to look for, ill just go for greddy ultimate and use a local tuner i already used previously for other cars. The Management might not work as good, but considering i only have intake and headers, i believe it will be good enough. I will know soon anyway!

Tuner fees approx $600
TOTAL= approx 1120$ im happy with that!

And you can wait as much as you like...Reading through forums and doing my research, ive learned that people have been waiting since 2005 for engine managements! lol Id rather have it now, so greddy in my case will do :)

Yer in your case it's fine i just know for a fact flash pro will be better then greddy you can't even control vtc with it
