Hi there from Germany,
I´m 28 years old from a small City between Cologne and Frankfurt.
Me and my other half are planning to move to melbourne in the next few years, its still just a wishful thinking, but we are gathering all needed informations right now,and are considering this definitely after my GF has finished her studies here.
And me,beeing a big Honda Enthusiast, I surely need to check the Honda Scene before! ;)
After driving a not so reliable Volkwagen Polo after I got my License back in 2001 and afterwards a french junker, I picked up my brandnew Civic FK2 GT in June 2010 and since then the Honda virus totally got me.
Soooo I would have some general Questions to you, hope they don´t sound too stupid :o :D

1.) What kind of Civics do you have in Aussie Land? I think I read that you have the same Type Rs as we do (FN2) but do you have the FKx Civics as well or "just" the US Civic SI´s (FGx/FDx) ???
2.) Fuel Costs?
3.) Speed Limits?
4.) Street Conditions ?
5.) Honda Meets ?
6.) Which Taxes do you have to pay for your car?
7.) How about insurance for your car? Is it a must like here?

Guess that will cover my Basic Questions for now,I know they sound noobish, but moving to another country is like learning to life again from scratch somehow :D
When I find time I will read through some threads here, maybe that will already cover some of my questions.
Hope to have some fun here with other Honda Lovers, and maybe meet some future friends, you´ll never know :D

Oh,and here are some Pics of my ride, still not all mods done yet,
already lowered him by 40mm,got some spacers on the back (10mm per side), some nice new rims, and a Invidia Catback.
Got a new frontlip and some honda decals lying at home waiting for better weather to attach them (its about -5 °c here right now... :( )
Not planning on changing anything to the engine right now, my R18A2 is doing great work so far and has pretty limited options in getting more power out of it,but whatever...
(Can anyone tell me if theres a command to resize the big pictures automatically?)

The biggest thing you will have to get used to is being limited to 110kph on major highways!

And compared to Germany the roads are crap and Mercedes are not used as Taxi's...LOL

Hm yeah, the speed limit,... dont know what to think about that. Our Motorways are crowded in the days, so mostly you cant even drive faster than 100-120,so thats not a very big change ^^. But in the night when there are almost none ppl on the road its quite nice to test your maxspeed ;) but who knows, our Government is planning a new general speed limit on our motorways to 130 km/h for years now, if that comes before we move than its no big deal at all.
Checked some Websites yesterday which nearly covered all my other questions I had,
so I will take this Thread as my Starter / Car modding thread now ^^
So here are 2 more pics of my FK2:
