I think the stock bulbs are T5 2V 1.2W, correct me if i'm wrong.

This is from the USDM EG service manual.
There is only 5 guage lights, but it says 3W

My cluster has 6 gauge lights

So i know i'm meant to use 5mm wedge bulbs, 2V but not sure on the wattage. I want to go as bright as possible but don't wanna burn out the bulb housing or wiring.

I can get 1.2W, 2W, 2.3W. I'm also planning on painting the bulbs with translucent paint which i guess would dim it down a little bit

Thanks for any help, smartasses ead

for my eg i got some t5 white LED's from ebay, not sure on wattage but they work. was $2 for 10 LED's. Based on electronics knowledge, I would say your safe using pretty much any T5 bulbs

btw seeing as how the cluster bulbs are ment to be 1.4W putting a 1.2W bulb should be fine, 2W should be fine bit little dull, 2.3W bit more dull.

same ones i got my man.. only ones that had to stay OEM was the fuel light, CEL due to them not working with the LED's in place. Just be aware that white LED's for dials are fine however using the LED's for things on cluster such as indicator and highbeam makes those "symbols" very bright i.e instead of dark green for indicators, you happen to get a bright light green. But other than your dash looking a bit animated, everything works fine, even the dimmer switch works. I also used the white T5's for my climate control unit. Remember to roughly sand the clear part of the LED's, just helps a bit with light dispersion

Don't do it milk! You get mad bright spots with LEDs unless you know how to modify it.

And isn't the more watt = brighter? you're saying it gets duller

I'm iffy about using cheap chinese ebay bulbs as well. They die and it's a bitch to remove the cluster and climate control just to change a bulb

The bezel won't go back in lol. Still waiting for an answer to my 1st post anyway to decide what bulbs to get! I know people have used 5W in 3W slots and burned the bulb holder but i have no idea what EG stock is

check to see that all them clips around the bezel are stright, but EG bezel does need some force to remove and reinstall..iv had those LED's for a little over a year now and no issues at all, just do make sure you fully test the whole dash before reinstall, and the LED's are connected correct polarity... one other way to help with bright spots is to super glue a piece of foil to bulb end, but as i said I didnt have issues with these bulbs due to the top already having a counter sunk top thus circular light displacement instead of directly straight out the top

I was thinking something like this could work

100 degrees angle

60 degrees angle
