Hey guys i been on these forums for a while, and whether or not ive had a honda i still stay here, well because i find of all forums on the net, regarding cars, this community is by far the most laid back and helpful so +1 for that.

Anyways to my story. Just thought id let you guys know.

I did have a Integra Dc5 Type R for about 2 and half years, well can I say how in love i was, finding it in a rare stock form and working on it week to week and saving(blowing) all my money whilst at uni for silly mods like a spoon gearknob costing over 100.
But can i say how much i lvoed the car.
Sad to say, i sold it last year, and bought a Silvia s15 2002 model.
Ive adored this styling of coupe since i read my first imports magazine in primary school, it truely is a classic.
Im still on my Green p's for about 2months after me being lazy on my red p's and not starting the two year greens process any sooner, and yet have still been driving my silvia around.

I have to say going from FWD to RWD is fun, the takeoff is sure different and the driving style especially through corners is totally abstract from the honda way.
I remember going to Robinson pie shops in my integra hitting the rev limiter in 4th or 5th through corners, and the car just beggin to go next gear and go harder, in the silvia i shit myself as i thrash it through corners and the back end goes... all in all a totally different experience.
But in saying that, i am not as wow'ed as i thought it was going to be. I mean dont give me shit for this but....in all honestly "VTEC ****ING KICKS ASS".
There isnt a day that goes by that i dont miss my car. I hope its in good hands.

Anyways what im saying once i get off my p's in the comming months im sure going to weigh up a few options.

Underneath my bed i have a Greddy Front mount intercool, Apexi Power FC ecu, apexi intake, a turbosmart EBC, and a full tback exhaust system. And im sure with the bolt on's and tune the car will go pretty well. But im going to go for a bit, and think to myself if its really worth it.

I have driven some cars in my short time, and most well arent really giving me that smile i had on my face when i had my DC5r.

(oh and dont get me started once i serviced my silvia and gave it a bit, i was like its revvving to 5 and half and wanting to changes gears WTFISTHIS SHIT! lol)

but anyways i thought id add some info to the community on my story and maybe can save a couple of souls on the thoughts of departure from Honda, for now, im going to sit back and drive my daily EG civic which inspires the honda within me.
I'll relax and enjoy the S15 cause it is a beautiful car, but by the end of the year, i might be back on here, with a s2000 saying im not looking back.

Who knows? Im so indecisive with cars:)

cheers for the time guys.

And happy new year btw!

If u own a n/a s15 then I can see what ur saying, but a turbo s15 would be hands down more fun, and looks 37337281 times better

na it is the spec r turbo, so 6speed with the jap spec t28 BB turbo rather than the shitty 200sx parts

I've driven a jap spec s15 with the intention of selling my dc5r for it. It was stock, and I was underwhelmed. If you work the s15 then yea it will be a better car in terms of speed.

Since it's an ADM S15 (considering little to no mods), I think you would have more trouble controlling an S2000.

no its not ADM its definately JDM, with a tune ill be seeing anywhere between 190-210RWKWs, trust me however after driving an S2000 the s15 is definately harder to handle around corners, as it boosts mid curve lol

you don't get many purist that stick to vtec once they go turbo so it's good to know there are stil some people out there :)
However stock for stock the dc5r feels much better then the s2000, the s2000 in stock form feels extremely sluggish and slow. Also the s2000 is a bigger handful around corners then the s15 is, boost around corners is nothing once you get used to it and some oversteer.

My cousin had a s15 with 3" turboback exhaust, stock audm t28 turbo, boost controller and aftermarket cooler and apexi power fc, had 201rwkw and ran flat 13's on street tyres all day everyday. Then with turbo upgrade and small cam went to 260rwkw now engine getting built 2.2L with 350rwkw easy.

Coming from a dc2r he doesn't look back. Boost > n/a

well tbh i just had shares in a company that jumped from 32c per share to 60c per share, the rise is said to be continual throughout this year as they began production of a new pharmaceutical product...so well after having no debt at 20years old, i feel like i might just boost an s2000, but i hate the conventional supercharger, id definately go for a turbo s2000.
well ill see how i feel. would love to be able to keep an s2000 and s15, and ofcourse get a hilux sr5 for my motobike and jetski....ahhh money the solution to all my dramass.....

mm turbo > sc

Ultimately having a S15 and a S2000 would be pretty sick!

Last time i checked keeping an S15s ass end tamed is hard.. Definantly harder then the S2000. That being said, its not always a bad thing.

used to take my mates s15 out pretty often wasn't hard at all, but then again I haven't driven any s15's for that matter for awhile. However my s13 is still easier to control when sideways but I guess it ain't no s15 when it comes to handling.
Yea oversteer is not a bad thing, it's a awesome thing! lol.

This!

I find the Silvias easier to control than the S2000. The S2000 is more twitchy and unforgiving, especially in stock form but rewards better drivers with better cornering limits :)
Silvias though are heaps of fun once you get the hang of it... Handbrake is your friend ;)

Oh yea, when sideways the S15 is easier to control. But its easy for it to come out sideways. The S2000s isnt as easy to get sideways, but when it is sideways its harder to control. Sick ass garage BTW Vyets. They both look spectacular.

I went from Honda to Honda... Finally got a jap s15, worked it a lil too much aka fully built engine lil head work and stuck with the factory turbo. I was seeing 210rwkw... The car was more than fun especially being able to stick with a 600rwkw hsv!!! Time came for me to settle down and I bought an s2000. After test driving it I was more than disappointed with its performance. So sluggish, no comparison to the s15. But after drivin it for some time now I choose the s2k over the s15 anyday!

I still like driving my s15 but prefer the s2k.

Ps wait til you put that front mount in then you will forget about Hondas lol... The stock s15 form is rediculously detuned, would barely beat a type r!

I'm currently selling my s15 as I don't have a purpose for it anymore

Sorry bro but I highly doubt an s15 with 210rkw is keeping up with a 600rkw anything lol.. My mate has an s15 with similar power and he has a hard time trying to keep up with my s2k..

I do love s15's though I wish I had one but I could never sell my car for one!

You talkin about in a straight line?

If so then put the pipe down

In a straight line, around a corner, anywhere really.. What are u saying everyones s2k is stock?

All I'm trying to say is my car is similar in speed to what a 210rkw s15 would be in a straight line and I know for damn sure I'm not keeping up with a 600rkw hsv..

Get some 17 x 9 rear rims and good/decent tires and you'll be fine.

What's your s2 got done to it to keep up with a 210rwkw s15 ?

And rihia
why would u have a fully built motor and run stock turbo... ?

That makes more sense.

Then consider the HSV probably weighs 500kg more too.

U got an eg? k20 that little puppy, Then u got ur type r back but better, it's lighter..
subframe brace n some other chassis stiffening and it'll be quicker than the type r..
Do it right and ull love it.
I still wish I never sold mine. I did the b18 type r swap with brakes wheels n all. Best money I ever spent on a car till today.. When I sold the car. I got every cent I spent on it back.. Haha

Keep the Silvia for track days or weekends or something. To be honest, it's not a bad car, with the right mods it'll be a lot of fun.
Also more tuners are familiar with them so I'm guessing it's not as exp to mod as an S and there's a butt load of parts available for it too.

Just my 2 cents.

if money's no issue. Then go for an s2k or nsx. U defiantly won't regret that either.
Run some fi and ull be laughing.
