Redline Air Filter

I have just put on a Redline Air Filter onto my '98 Civic Coupe. Does anyone know if it does or doesn't help the car in any way? I'm afraid that dust and stuff would pass through the filter. Would it damage the engine or other parts in the car in the long run? I would like to know the Pros and Cons of the Redline or similar airfilters. Thanks. :confused:

had one of them in my si eg...no probelms with me, but i dont really know the pros and cons...

its not uncommon that all cotton filter let more dust and dirt thru the air intake. however maintain the rest of the car, engine wear due to this is negligible
thats how it works, more air =more crap.

oem paper filter will filter best
k&n, simota and other similar filters have more flow, hence you never see them claim to be better at filtering than oem filters
