Hey comrades,

I have a 1996 prefacelift DC4 Integra, with the stripey key, and a dodgy, crybaby, Brandt AA02 immobiliser with a temperamental remote.

I really hate most aftermarket immobilisers at the moment, especially the ones that operate on a timer. It makes it hard to get the car started, and with a dodgy remote, I can't get the car started all the time.

I know that the facelift models had a factory immobiliser with a transponder key, which meant that the car automatically disarms when the key goes in, and arms when the key comes out.

Is there any way that I can retrofit the transponder system (and/or factory immobiliser) to a prefacelift DC4?

If not, I know that the Ford Falcons equipped with Smart Lock (AFAIK 1992-1998) had a similar system, minus the transponder. Would I be able to use the "key is in the ignition chime" circuit to arm/disarm the alarm?

Otherwise, is there a good, well-priced aftermarket system that does NOT operate on a timer, or even has an aftermarket transponder system?

Thank you

I dont think its worth it, getting the ECU, keys, ignition barrel, door locks, possibly a conversion harness etc it wont be cheap.

Get yourself a good aftermarket alarm like a mongoose.
