Hey guys,
This question sounded nooby, so I figured it should go here.
Anyway, I recently bought my '97 Civic CXi EK. It has an alarm/immobiliser installed with remote central locking. However, the remote that came with it is branded as 'Zylux'. A google search tell me this is not standard.
As I understand it, the Civic's with remote central locking as standard ran the remote central locking circuit through the stock radio/cassette player installed in the car and by removing this, you disable the remote central locking unless you install harnesses/splice wires through etc etc.
If this Zylux immobiliser/alarm/remote central locking system is after market, would it be safe to assume they did not run the circuit through the radio/cassette player the same way Honda would have? And thus, it should be safe to replace the stock radio/cassette without disabling central locking?
Cheers for any input ;)
