Type R DC2. Price??

Hey all. I'm looking at a 2001 DC2 type R with 129,000km on the clock. On average, how much are these sold for privately. I'm looking at one in mint condition advertised for $16,000, with a full mugen exhaust. Redbook and various other valuation sites are valuing this car for up to $10,500 but advertised cars are $15,000. I'm not familiar with local car prices so can any one tell me if I'm being ripped off?

Whats red book price on a 1958 23 window VW micro bus ?
If they had a listing on them it would probably be $500.
In real terms you can't find one under $100,000.
Red book under values everything even crap Toyota Camrys.
Its what the market asks,if its good $16k is what its worth,every penny.

Define mint condition. I paid a considerable sum for mine and even then there are a few stone chips etc. 16K sounds a lot - forget things that have been added on to it like the exhaust, if he tried to sell that parted out he might get $500 if he was lucky. Is the base car worth 16K? If it's going to need little things added/fixed then tack on a few more grand.

Redbook is a crock and anyone who believes it is nuts. Looking at 5R and S15 prices, unless this thing is absolutely spotless, for the KMs 16K might be a bit high. Then again...

Redbook is mainly for dealerships i believe, all that private sale stuff.. is bs

16k is a bit "o ha" MAYBE a JDM front one.. thats MINT CONDITION

Otherwise a normal type r dc2 (fairly stock) in my opinion not worth more then 12k
Maybe some nice wheels, coilovers + exhaust would make it 13.

A not so healthy one but very driveable and .. fixable 10k
