I'm due for a 80,000km service and after searching through most of the threads, I gathered that the following are required.

Valve adjustment, with new valve cover gasket
Spark Plugs
Radiator flush and refill
Brake and clutch fluid
Transmission oil
Differential oil
Engine oil and oil filter change
Fuel filter
Air filter
Pollen filter
ECU reset?

Can someone confirm the above is all that is required? I'm not too sure if a TCT needs to be replaced as well - I've been meaning to get that replaced too to eliminate the ticking noise from my engine bay.

Most things I can do at home by myself, but I don't think I'm capable of doing valve clearance adjustment on my own. Would you guys recommend taking it to Honda for that? Yarra Honda quoted me $250~ for the adjustment. I just have that gut feeling that the stealerships would charge me and not even end up doing it.

Can someone recommend an independant mechanic in Melbourne?

HondaTec? A friend uses them and never had a problem.

In most cases dealerships will not touch the valves unless it is making noise, mostly inspection (audio) and if that's ok then all is sweet. Try racing projects in mitcham.

If you are willing to travel down to Narre Warren, I will be more than happy to do the valve clearances for less than half what Yarra Honda have quoted you one night after work. PM if you would like further details

Essendon Honda charged me $180 for the tappet adjustment. They definitely did it because I could hear and feel the difference.
