Hi
Ok, time for a new car. I just old my 98 Alfa GTV V6, and need a new car. I really want a DC type R, but i find it very hard to get in NSW and they are all 2003+ models that are too expensive. I test drove a dc2 type r, but i just find them too outdated now (interior wise, though it drives awesome).
I also drove a DC5 integra (not type r), and found them a fun car too drive, and they are alot cheaper. mid 20's.
What is your opinion on buying a DC5 (not type r) model?
because the 10g that u save from not buying ITR, i reckon you can make a standard one go even faster.

i would go for the dc5r... 10k wont get u anywhere as balanced as the R

You can spend 20 g's on the base, but it'll never be an R
Get the R
Don't think you'll regret it

Also with resale the R will always be a lot better than a modified standard model.

DC5R is an awesome drive! My dad let me have 1 drive of his type R and now I have a burning desire to drive again. If you don't like the dc2's interior then go the newer dc5, pay extra and be happy

I dont want turbo. Insurance and personal choice. I just want a N/A.
Does anyone have any sugesstions where I can get a DC5R. I checked all the auto sites, and paper (SMH today, only one for sale and it was 37k).
I would love a 2001 model for around 30.
Anyone selling one, or know someone that is?

Go with the R dude. That extra money would be well spent in my opinion. From what i've heard, everyone that chooses the R never looks back. Plus, with the DC5 (not Type R) u'll always be thinking "what if?". Better the R and be satisfied - than the DC5 and having thoughts of the DC5R in the back of ur mind haunting you. Just my opinion though...

Spot on. DC5R is the only car ive had in mind to buy for the last year. I will not b 100% satisfied with the standard DC5, its just such a big proce diff

Then get the R and don't let anyone tell u otherwise, at the end of the day it comes down to the car ur satisfied with having in ur driveway. Good luck with ur decision. All the best.

i just got myself a dc5r, its awesome, i got it for 38, with quite a few mods, but yeh, i think you wont be able to outdo the handling on a dc5r in any previous integra. It drives like a dream, power aside, the handling is awesome, no other FF car corners this good, well not that ive driven :P and yeh its awesome, the interior matches the cars so well, just everything about the dc5r makes me love my car more. Ive got some pics of it in the introductions section of the forums.

go the R, no matter what you do with the spare 10G's (if decide not to get a R) It will NEVER be a R. dc2r are the only R in honda that comes close to a type R. If you know what i mean. Dc5r is good too, but it's nothing comparing to a dc2r.INNOVATE don't IMMATAKE

you should also take into consideration insurrance and other expenses. going for a DC5R may be great but what will cost you more in the long run.....
just something you should think about....
peace out and all the best on whatever you buy!
