I'm in the process of putting in my coilovers and found that the stock suspensions have the bottom nuts welded on. Can someone verify which of the below nut size is correct?

12mm x 1.75 METRIC

and I found somewhere that it's 12mm x 1.025 .

I've also read that the welded-on nut can possibly be torque'd off - is it possible?

The factory bolt should come out, and the new coilover strut should have the same system with a welded on nut so the original bolt can thread into it.

Do your rear coilovers look like these ones (far left)

If not you will simply have to buy a new nut and bolt, don't re-use the original welded on lug

don't know the correct size from memory but just bring the bolt in and u'll find something.

don't snap off the nut that's on the stock suspension man lol

Lol nah, I'm not gonna smash it off when nuts are like worth a couple bucks.

I just wanted to confirm the size of the nuts before putting them in - cbf walking bunnings/autobarn.

dude

just grab a strut top nut....either off the TOP of the stock suspension strut or the 2 x or so holding it to the chassis.its a 14mm head. This is the same sized nut needed.

Yeah I always stock up on these when I go to the wrecker as they round on the top struts sometimes.

Also fits some of the bolts for away bars etc. Good to have spares
