I think i have a problem with my automatic transmission somewhere...
When ever i change from P to R or D, the car jerks quiet bad, and this is when the car is stationary.

Also, Just before turning off the engine, i put the gear from D to P and hear this "clack" sound.

Is this normal? I want a smooth gear change when cruising. Would replacing the transmission fluid help?

you wont fix the clacking noise by doing anything external or by changing the fluid, does it do it when you select revers as well.

as for the jerkyness, there could be a few thing to check

idle speed,
fluid level
engine mounts

what is it idling at when id does it. also hot or clod or both.
