So I need to get my civics windscreen replaced and when I called up some places they said it will be $20 extra for new moulding which I want to get because my moulding looks crappy.
I'm just wondering do they just use a universal rubber moulding or something?
Seeing a new Honda moulding is like $200
And if they do does anyone know if they look good?

I highly recommend getting the actual Honda ones. I just had mine replaced with a universal molding and wow what a piece of crap. I will be getting genuine ones soon as these generics are terrible.

If you want I can upload a picture

Are they really that bad are they?
If you could put up a picture that would be awesome
Thanks!

Instead of one here is three.. As you can see its quite poor (only the top one is a universal). Mind the dust haha.

Ahh I see, I think that's the same as what's on my current windscreen.
I might look into getting a Honda one before I get the window done.

On my prelude it's 1 piece, is that what all honda ones are meant to be?

Also thanks for posting them up for me, heaps of help!

Well the eg's are 3 piece, top an the 2 sides. Not to sure about other models.

They should have clips that kind of just click into place. So if they are not attached by clips they aren't genuine. At least for an eg civic

Got my windscreen replaced by racq auto glass about 6 months ago, windscreen had been replaced previously with cheap versions of oem (which for a dc2 is top and two sides which clip in and fold under top section)...

Anyway the guy used a rubber mould instead of plastic, it's flexible and did the whole windscreen in one piece

Looks very clean and has held up perfectly so far... All up glass and mould was about $250 so very cheap too.....

I'm not saying its better than oem but it's definitely worth a look... :)

Thanks for the responses guys, I might call up the windscreen Guy and see what he thinks.
I don't know if it's worth paying big bucks for a oem moulding from Honda for a 94 civic lol

You get the non genuine windscreen and non genuine mouldings.
