so why not use a prelude instead of a ctr or itr

because prelude 5 stud does not bolt onto a civic/itr

have you factored in labour aswell as parts?

if your gonna DIY then there isnt really any cons (so long as you got everything)

once installed you will enjoy better braking and more rim choice as stated above

but isnt the wheels you want come in 4x100 pattern?

even the crv 5 lug does not bolt on

Define "better braking"?

I can fit Prelude VTiR discs (redrilled at next to no cost) and TypeR spec calipers (with a small amount of machining) to the front of an ED that would be infinitely "better" than any 5 Stud conversion costing close to a grand!

But you're right about the wheel choice - that's not an issue given the amount of choice for 4 x 100 wheels.

yeh just tried this physically and no luck.

so i guess the really only option is a ITR/EK9 5lugs ftw!

got a mate welling a set with the OEM ITR gun metal polished wheels as a package!

if only i had the money id buy it

on the assumption we are talking about OEM civic and OEM ITR setup

bigger sized rotors & bigger pads make for a more consistent stopping power (assuming it is a track car)
and assuming that all stock parts are retained

of course by getting aftermarket parts that argument pretty much becomes invalid lol

personally id just do what you suggested and find the rims in my stud pattern
but if OP got dat cash then why not

Brakes are not the issue here, its more so to do with the wheel options IMO..... from what ive seen, ppl only go after 5 stud merely for wheel selection and not for the brakes.....

If u want bigger brakes, you would just upgrade the rotors and calipers to CTR/ITR items, and retain 4X100, makes sense doesnt it... Or if u wanted bigger and more performance, lets say if u wanted Alcon or Endless calipers and rotors, im sure they can knock up a kit that will fit the 4X100 hub easy... Just look at Dynall build thread, perfect example what brake companies can do for ppl still running 4X100 stud pattern....

5 Stud = Because u couldnt find 4 stud version of ur fav rim... :D
